The whole thing comes apart like a puzzle. The side rubber pieces on each side slide outward to front of machine. After they are removed everything comes apart. Make diagrams so you will not forget how to put back together. If you need any more help, let me know. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

SOURCE: Canister works, vacuum doesnt

There could be a break in the electric from the machine to the hose - or from the hose to the wand - or from the wand to the Power Nozzle - or it could be the motor is bad.

Wiggle the cord at the Hose with it running- then go to the Wand - then to the Power Nozzle. You may find a break in the wires anywhere along the line.

unplug the Vacuum:

If you have a meter check to see if the reset is working - and last check to see if the motor will work removed from the Nozzle.

SOURCE: Electrolux Advantage Series canister vacuum

There is an area on the back of the tank where you will see lines, put your thumb there and pull the top half of the tank towards yourself. That should open the machine so you can replace your after filter.

The easiest solution would be to call your local Aerus/ Electrolux representative, because the corporation doesnt publish diagrams.

SOURCE: electrolux power nozzle not working

FIRST OFF EACH OF YOU HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MACHINE. ESPECIALLY THE OXYGEN WHICH IS MADE BY THE "NEW" ELECTROLUX. THE OTHER TWO ARE MADE BY THE "OLD" ELECTROLUX WHICH IN NOW CALLED AERUS. THE ADVICE WITH THE GUARDIAN TO GET IT SERVICED BY THE DEALER SINCE THE POWER NOZZLE IS PROBABLY STILL UNDER WARRANTY IS A GOOD IDEA. (THE 25 YR. WARRANTY DOESN'T APPLY TO THE WHOLE MACHINE SO YOU HAVE TO READ CAREFULLY WHATS COVERED. THE MAIN MOTOR DEFINITELY IS.)
ASIDE FROM ALL THAT
DID ANY OF YOU HIT THE RESET BUTTON ON TOP OF THE POWER HEAD?!

SOURCE: I have an older Electrolux canister vacuum - model

Check to be certain the thermo lite is on and not the bag full indicator. The thermo detector is very reliable, but the bag fill valve often fails. If it is the thermo, check your hose and wand for blockage by dropping a coin through them, before opening the vac itself.Otherwise you may have a bad set of motor bearings causing the motor to overheat due to its age.
The 2100 and all its canister cousins made since 1982 seem to be prone to failure of the dial valve on top cracking internally. The causes the bag full indicator to come on and the vac to shut down.
To open the vac you will need to slide the locking keys and bumpers forward with the bag door open. Do this with a set of pliers. Once done the vac will open from front to back like a **** shell. Be careful to look at the underside hinge are of the bag door before separating and mark and locate the wiring harness . This vac only goes back together one way, perfectly assembled it pops together with ease. If any piece is out of line it`s like a RUBIKS Cube. Take your time . OEM parts are only available through an AERUS Elctrolux dealer or repair shop

ok, you need to bypass the auto shut of. Put the vac on it's side and pull off the sliders on both sides.Carefully pull machine apart.lift the front of the piece that hold you bag.Underneathe there is a clear tube plugged in to a round thing on switch area.Simply pull the tube out of the rouind trhing. This will allow you to fillthe bag without shut dow.Just make sure your bag doesn't get too full....Chris

My 30 year old canister vac has had both the filter and bag changed, but everytime I turn it off the bag compartment opens and ejects the bag.

I think its time for a new vacuum cleaner.....sounds like the circuitry is malfunctioning or you have an airflow problem that is tricking the vacuum into thinking the bags full. check all hoses and airways for blockage

Took apart my electrolux 6500 sr. How do I get my fan shroud off to clean the blades? Thank you.

Oops. Don't. First blow it out with another canister vacuum or air hose. That's usually sufficient for removing dirt and dust. For dust/dirt in the motor, use a motor cleaning spray that can be picked up at most auto parts stores. One that evaporates quickly and doesn't leave a sticky residue. One's called Electric Motor Contact Cleaner by Gunk (http://www.gunk.com/CAT_NM1.asp). There are others.
Hobby shops may also have one available called Dynamite Magnum Force 2 Motor Spray.
It shouldn't be that dirty unless someone has been using generic "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Or if water or other liquid has been vacuumed, resulting in rust, etc.

Keep in mind that reassembling the vacuum is more difficult than taking it apart. If not done so correctly, various problems may result. While you have it apart, it would probably be a good idea to use pipe cleaners to clean out the tubes connectiong the "control valve assembly" to other parts of the vacuum. Also, unscrew the knob at the top of the "cva" to check for wear and breaks. Clean dust thoroughly from all interior parts.

You have a problem with the electrical switches. If you are comfortable with this, take apart and double check internal wiring to make sure nothing was frayed, or disconnected. Make sure it is unplugged. If you know how to operate a multimeter, you can use it to check continuity in each switch.

Looks like there's an interchanged wires in your vacuum. Both the motor and the powerhead must go together. Check it up. Leave the
motor wiring connection intact. Just tinker and check the powerhead
wiring connection .

How do we open this vacuum?

Some of these, the strip on each side, in the middle, slide off, then the 2 halfs will separate. They only slide in one direction and some are hard to get off.
