Printer wont pull paper down then says paper jam

This is my second dell 926 all in one printer. It worked fine then i didnt use for couple months. Went to use and it says paper jam-so i made sure there wasnt paper jam. Cleaned out dust with air. Put fresh paper in. The printer will not grab the paper and pull it down. I can hear the wheels turning but paper wont go down then it says paperjam. I am low on ink also(if this has anyhting to do with it)but don't want to buy more if i will have to buy another printer. Please Help. Thanks Rebekkah

Dell does not make printers. They put their name on Lexmark printers.
I just repaired a 926 which had a paperjam alarm...and no paper jam. The paper sensor microswitch had been bent up onto a paper roller so the printer thought a piece of paper was stuck under it. It was hard to get the little lever off the roller and back, hanging free, without breaking it. This did not happen on its own so I can't fault the printer.
Look for this tiny black plastic lever hanging down right in the middle of the upper paper rollers, just behind where the carts run.

I keep getting paper jams. Even if I put one sheet of paper in at a time, the paper keeps jamming and won't print.

I live in the mid west - during our significantly humid days my 926 wouldn't pull in any paper. I tried a lot of home grown techniques but none worked. I finally raised the air temp in my office which tended to dry out the paper and that worked. Of course your problem could be a broken gear or a worn out feed tire - also something stuck in the printer.

Paper jam
Hi there follow the steps below.
Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope thats start working , if no luck then un install the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. NOw install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Paper jam on Dell Photo 926
Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

The paper is not feeding correctly. It feeds about a quarter of the way, then seems like it stops pulling or catches on the left side and starts feeding diagonally or crumples because it doesn't seem to be...
This means that there is a tiny bit of paper jammed somewhere in the printer, mine did the same thing, now it works fine. Hope this helps.

Have 926 All-In-One. Paper jams as it enters printer. No apparent obstructions. Used new single sheet of paper. Any way to get into the unit to check further? I work as a tech and am comfortable...
hi : 

possible u have a carrier jam which cause the paper to skew.  
-open the front cover and check if the cart is struck @ a corner 
---if so then gently pull it over to the centre .and restart the printer ,

--also check from any broken strip inside the printer 
--see if u can find the roller inside the feeder tray to be at the centre , 

-make sure the papers u use dont have dog ears . 
if u printer is in warranty call 8006249896 and get a replacment from dell .

Envelope stuck inside of printer Dell Photo AIO Printer 926. Can see it down inside from the loading side but no where else and it won't print anything else (won't load the paper). How do I get to the...
Raise the scanner lid as if you were going to change the ink cartridge. You should be able to see the stuck envelope -- just grasp it and pull firmly to remove it.
