As you talk of a drum, I take it you have a laser printer. You say you have checked the drum. Without knowing the model, sometimes the waste holder gets full and will cause this. Some carts have the waste holder just below the toner holder in the cart, and others have a separate waste tank.
Always run the printer on the leanest setting that will print well. Stay away from the rich settings as they waste toner and fill the waste tank needlessly, leading to a needed cleaning.
The lines can be waste toner getting printed rather than going into the waste tank.

Why do my pictures have tiny black lines running vertically thru them when I print pictures?

Ran into this problem myself on a few inkjet models. Check to ensure you've programmed the unit for the type of paper (matte, photo, glossy, etc.) and that your paper matches your machine (most inkjets won't print correctly on laser photo paper). If those are OK, try cleaning your rollers - many newer units have an auto-clean setting. If that doesn't work try this: Unplug your printer. Turning it off is NOT the same thing since many units have a form of stand-by to decrease warm-up time, much like TVs. Take an old, soft T-shirt or other lintless absorbent cloth & dampen it slightly. Hopefully the cartridge holders are off to the side so you can see where the paper feeds through. Gently rub the rollers, changing areas of cloth as they become ink-soaked until they're clean. To check if clean: turn unit back on & put a clean sheet of paper on the glass to copy. I use stick glue (for kids) to put 2 regular pieces of paper together (mimics thickness of photo paper) & use this for the machine to print out my (hopefully) blank page.

Oh, and I wear vinyl gloves to keep my hands from getting stained anytime I work with printer ink. (My doc always gives me a few pair free whenever I come in). Good luck!

Printer is printing with horizontal blank lines

you did not indicate machine or how you are printing.

1- printing from glass or doc feeder?
did you check the small scanning glass on left side?
usually if there is a dot (pen dot or similar) it will come out as a line on docs, this is because the paper is moving while scanning, so it now sees the dot a s a line. Line up the paper w the glass you should see where the problem is comong from.

Dark edges

It depends... never use a Reman cart in these machines... only use sharp...especially if the machine is under warranty.

Does this happen when,
Using the Doc Feeder
When making copies from the Glass
Or when you print from a computer (assuming you print from a PC)

If you print something and this happens then it is inside the machine
Probably toner or developer dumping...

Take a few pieces of large white paper and cover the entire glass surface... make a copy is the line there? If so see the answer above... if not then close the top and make a copy with no paper on the glass... is that black line there.. If so then your top needs adjustment...

One more test
If you make a copy using the doc feeder, this black line only occurs when making copies with the doc feed, clean the **** glass, and try again...
