My brand new fridge won't cool, it may be on demo mode. How do I check to see if this is the case?
Are you sure you have the right model #?
Your refrigerator's model number may vary by type. The model number of a top freezer refrigerator can be seen along the upper left side wall of the fresh food compartment and is visible when the door is opened. The model number of a french door and side-by-side refrigerator can be seen along the upper right side of the fresh food compartment and is visible when the door is opened.

Ours did the same thing and we returned it for an exact same model. Happy to report that the second one works just fine. Don't waste any more time on this defective one!

SOURCE: Frigidaire model ftr18b freezer works, fridge is only cool
Info relating specifically to the Frigidaire FRT18B5ABB:
1.Refrigerator unplugged remove the bottom back panel. (Access cover with label. The rectangular shaped panel on the back, at the bottom) Place the screws in a container.
Also remove the Kickplate Grille in the front, and the defrost pan.
2.Use the wand tip on your vacuum cleaner, and vacuum this area out. Pay special attention to the condenser coils, and the fan. Use care as you don't want to bend the fan blades. After you have vacuumed up as much as possible, see if your vacuum has where you can attach the hose to blow air through it. An air compressor, hose, and air nozzle would be REAL handy right now! Blow the condenser coils, and all areas clean of any gunk. (Hair, spider webs, etc.) If this is not feasible for you, you'll need some sort of long, thin, dust 'bunny', and have to dislodge this 'gunk' physically. Then vacuum.
3.BE SURE to replace the bottom back panel, (Access Cover)! It is a VERY necessary item! If your fridge doesn't have one at present, make a temporary one of cardboard, and tape it on. This access cover is needed.
If your refrigerator side is only cool, and your freezer is cold, you may have a problem with the Cold Control, (Temperature Control), or the Defrost Timer. (Timer-Defrost)

If it's truly brand new, don't mess with trying to fix it. It should still be under warranty. Get a replacement. There's no telling whats wrong and you're better off getting another new one anyway. Even if it is inconvenient.

Thank you for your post, friend!
In order to take your Frigidaire refrigerator out demo mode you would need to push and hold the "up arrow" on your freezer and the "down arrow" on your refrigerator for five seconds. Once your appliance has went into demo mode both the refrigerator and freezer display should read 77. If you could follow up with a post I would greatly appreciate it. -Matt

Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!
I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator has been plugged in for 24 hours and is still not cooling. I would recommend you adjust the setting to a colder setting to see if that would jump start the compressor. I have reviewed your appliance and I was unable to locate a demo mode for your appliance. You can also attempt to perform a reset which is unplugging the appliance for roughly ten minutes and then plugging it in. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
