Most times when a cleaner won't reach the water level in a pool it is usually due to the internal floats being removed or they are no longer in good condition.
Turn the machine upside down, and remove the bag assembly. Should be foam in the plastic housing, underneath, if not replace.

Dolphin diagnostic won't climb walls

Need help my dolphin diagnostic won't go up the walls, stays in same general area, and at times back roller is on the floor while the top one lifts. I have a new filter bag but don't have the bag clips, impeler moving freely no debris and feels like good strong suction. Drive pulley and guide wheel bearings intact and moving freely as well as the wheel tube assembly. Moving speed looks pretty normal in comparison to my deluxe 4 unit. It seems like a bouyancy issue but can't figure out what exactly. I am beginning to suspect the bottom lid assembly. It is one like I have never seen before and am not sure if it's missing a piece to create adequate suction. This lid has two flaps with no resistance spring clips as I have seen on line anywhere. They close when upright. There is no other one I can see online to compare it to. The silica sand bag busted and I removed all the debris, added silicone and closed it back up. I have a plaster pool and its use is in warm 80 -88 F weather, no algea. I will try removing the 8 oz floats or possiblle weights, but not sure what type and where to attach? Unit is in excellent condition with apparent very little use and I purchased on a thrift shop for $10. Would be awesome if I got it going HELP! Any recommendations on what it could be? The model serial number on the casing and motor is 80407 AS13. 6H Diagnostic DC

Need instruction manual for dolphin unit - the dolphin unit climbs walls but doesnt clean the bottom of the inground pool

If you need one for the dynamic model it is here.

Of not pick your model from the list and go to more info...from there you can select the manual.

You can also explore the Maytronics website for additional info or try our FAQ section at www.arrowpools.net.

Dolphin starts to climb walls and then tips over.

There are several things that could cause this problem with these automatic pool cleaners. Try the solutions below.
1. Your pool cleaner might be too heavy. To correct, empty and wash the filter bag and add floats if necessary.
2. There may be too much algae growth on the walls that is preventing traction. Brush the walls prior to vacuuming if you have excessive algae growth.
3. The water temperature could be too low. Make sure pool water temp is at least 65 degrees.
4. Make sure there is not water inside the handle.
5. Make sure the brushes are not worn. You might have to have them replaced if they are worn.
6. Pool cleaner might be too light. Remove handle floats and attach 8 oz. weight to bottom inlet cover if necessary.
7. Debris could be caught in impeller.

It stops after 30 min. Lays on it's back then starts up again. Has trouble climbing the walls to the very top

There are several problems that could make these automatic pool cleaners fail to climb the walls. The cleaner could be too heavy. Empty and wash the filter bag and add floats if necessary. If there are excessive amounts of algae on the wall, you will need to brush the walls first. The algae can prevent the cleaner from climbing. Make sure that the temp is at least 65 degrees in the pool. Make sure that there is no water in the handle and that the bushes arent worn. If the cleaner is too light, add weights. Make sure there is nothing caught in the impeller.

Dolphin Interactive pool cleaner stops running

If the dolphin is falling backward when it meets the water line, there is an easy fix. The automatic pool cleaners often have this problem. The easiest solution is to remove the handle floats and attach an 8 oz weight to the bottom inlet cover.

DOLPHIN DIAGNOSTIC AUTOMATIC POOL CLEANER STARTS AND STOPS

There may be moisture building up inside the motor housing. Try to Open it. http://www.i-love-my-aquabot-automatic-pool-cleaner.com/Maytronics-Dolphin-Repair.html

Then make sure no moisture accumulated in the circuits. Mine got the same problem.. after running trouble free for several years it suddenly stop running after the first few minutes..when i opened it a lot of moisture in the circuit. I tot it was toasted. so i took my hair blower and sealed it back and replace the moisture absober (it was soaked).. after first run it would run only the SELF TEST mode.. i tried several method to make it run all the way to the main program.. the solution.. start it and make sure it will not tilt in the first 10 minutes before you let i run sideways to the walls, this makes the program run back to normal.
