Question about Dometic RM2652 Refrigerator

My Dometic trailer refridgerator is warm but freezer is freezing.

The freezer is working, but the refridgerator is warm, and when I open it there is a strong amonia smell present.

Unfortunately, you have a bad cooling unit in your refrigerator. Then ammonia smell means that you have a leak in the unit. TURN THE FRIDGE OFF!!! Do not use the fridge on AC or Gas until you have the cooling unit replaced or buy a new fridge. Depending on the model number and serial number of the fridge, it may be under recall by dometic and you might be able to have it repaired for free. If you will provide me with the model number, serial number and the serial number of the cooling unit (found on the outside of the unit in the fridge compartment, lower tank of cooling unit), I can then tell you the pricing of the repairs or whether it is under recall.

Again, TURN THE FRIDGE OFF and do not use it...RISK OF FIRE!!!!

Dometic had several recalls for that problem, faulty thermostat I believe. Mine does the same thing, but I haven't taken it out to replace the thermostat / thermocoupler.

I have a dometic mod.2852 refridgerator/freezer that was working fine until a day ago when it stopped getting cold in both parts. It has power. the space between the freezer and refridgerator is very warm....
Check this link to dometic recalls first and enter your model number and serial number. There may be a recall on that fridge.

Well first of all solution # 1 pertains to household refridgerators..RV models have no fan inside maybe outside,But I would find out if it gets cold/freezes with 120 volt and or LP(propane) and look trrough the internet and download your model service manual.

Freezing in the refrigerator
you probably have a damper control that is sticking open letting the cold air in fromthe reezer but not closing the small door when the freezer is to tempreture check this first

Side by side refridgerator part too warm
Make sure the small door between the freezer and fridge is open. It should be at the top towards the rear on the wall between the fridge and freezer. Thermostat controls its open/closing. And make sure freezer is in fact freezing and you don't just have residual cold in it. Freezer should be about 0 dertees.

Fridgidare, freezer cold fridge warm
sounds like you may have gotten a refridgerant leak causing a low charge condition. some refridgerators have a evaporator fan if this quit working it will cause it to freeze up .thus the freezer does not use a fan and it will still get cold
