Question about Karcher G 2600 VH Gas Pressure Washer

1 Answer

I have a Karcher G2600vh Honda engine GCV160 N5af which I just purchased a new pump for and installed. The carburetor has been cleaned and have run seafoam thru 2X. Questions...1. It's leaking a little water at the quick connect output valve. (I don't know if it's enough to cause a problem). 2. Engine starts right up; turn choke off; engine runs but is revving up and down. 4. Water comes out but not pressured like it should (have checked several times and released air). 5. The detergent tank is filling with water at all times no matter what nozzle tip I'm using. I don't remember it doing that before. So many questions; so little time. I thought this was a quick fix by just replacing the pump. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

For item 5, I would check the Detergent Injector, water should never come out there, Maybe something (dirt) is causing it to malfunction.
see picture here Check the ball, o-ring and spring... leakage like this would be one reason for no pressure, It's like not having a nozzle on. fix the leak at the quick connect as well, check the o-ring and replace of it is hard and brittle or nicked. tighten the connection if it is leaking at the threads, some thread sealer sutiable for 2600PSI maybe.
Engine surging problem 'may' go away once you get a proper load on it...

If this is a new pump contact the supplier, maybe it is defective.

Thank you, I'll try that. Very frustrated; reason I bought a new pump was to save time and frustration.

Where to install thermal relief valve

It should be the last threaded hole right before the water enters the pump itself, on the low pressure ( inlet) side, most pumps have 2 different size holes 90 degrees from each other, commonly 1/4 and 1/8 in.

Sounds like debris in the carburettor. The carbs on these are relatively simple things which come apart easily. Check for debris or water in the float-bowl, and ensure both your idle and main jets are clear and you can see daylight through them.

Accidently put 2 cycle gas into Karcher G2600VH, Drained gas,Took spark plug out and cleaned. It is running fine now is there anything I should do in addition

Placing 2 cycle gas into a 4 cycle engine does not cause problems (but will blow white smoke and, in time, dirty the plug). I would have probably just ran it through.

I have a Husky 2600 PSI power washer with the Honda GCV160 engine that I can't get to start. It was okay when I purchased it from Home Depot last spring but now I've tried putting new gas in it, spraying...

You can eliminate the motor by unbolting the pump from it and then if it will start the problem is with the pump or the unloading valve. If it does not start with the pump removed then you check for spark and get the carb cleaned or have a kit put in it.If it does start then check to see if the pump turns freely,if so disassemble the unloader valve and clean and lube it so that the pump and motor can relieve the pressure it needs to when the trigger is not engaged,if the pump can't be easily turned by hand then then pump needs to come apart, dealership should do this.

Honda GCV160 Engine Won't Start

You should siphon out all the old gas you can. Replace with new gas. Check that the spark plug is good and the air filter is clean. Spray some carb cleaner in the carburetor.. Also, you should check the oil level and change the oil if it is black. If it tries to start after you spray the carb cleaner in but won't keep going then you know the carburetor needs a good cleaning

Honda GCV160 5.5 on a pressure washer runs only intermittently

The problem is the plastic float in the carburetor, it's not adjustable and after sitting up with gas in it it distorts. Save yourself the trouble and buy a new one, you can get them online for $15-$20.
