E300D Headlight Lens installation

First you have to remove the turn signal lamp. There is a plastic release tang that you push one way and pull the turn signal out. Next you have to remove the filler panel below the headlight assy to gain access to the bottom bolt. 2 screws hold the filler in place. There is also a black plastic filler panel that is pinned to the headlight assy remove it. There are 3 or 4  bolts that hold the headlamp assy in place 2 on top 1 on bottom actually it might be 2 on the bottom. (old age memory loss LOL) remove the bolts and remove the headlamp assy. The lens is held in by plastic clips just pry up gently on the locking clips and remove the lens. I hope this helps. It fairly easy and you should be able to DIY. Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Remove the Back and front covers, then use a small flathead screwdriver to release the 2 hinges that hole the lens assy down; then unlatch the 2 ribbons cables. Now you can install the new lens assy. If you're not going to use the "old lens assy, can I have it, please? Thanks.

Camera lens problem

Im confused, will you pay the lens assy? or they will replace the lens assy free of charge cause its warranty? In my opinion, if all the functions are working, shooting, zooming, flash, playback. just keep the camera, if they will replace the lens assy free of charge, fine. If charge to you, and it will free you from doubts(security) and your willing to pay it. have it replaced. But as I said, if its still working, just free your worry, anyway its warranty, whenever it will break, bring it to service ctr, just say my camera doesnt work. thanks

So frustrating. Turn off and Turn on again.

There are two possible defective parts on your camera, is the lens cover will open upon power on? if yes, then lens cover motor is OK. if not its defective. Assumming, lens cover is OK, does lens assy pop-out upon power on? If not then, lens assy is defective, replace it. Thanks

Lens will not open

Good Day, if you hear gears trying to open the lens, then the lens assy is broken, no longer user serviceable. please call your nearest reliable shop(sony svc ctr) and ask for the lens assy price, if it fits your budget then you decide. For sure lens assy is defective. thanks

"Turn the power off and on again" error message

You probably have a defective lens assy. When turned on lens has to move to certain position but because of broken gear or some mechanical problem it can not perform that funtion. Remedy is to disassemble the lens assy and repair the problem. Many time the whole lens assy are replace to repair the problem. normal repair charges for this kind problem is $125-200 in US depending on parts use.
