Perform the Reset Life Counters utility as follows:
1. In the Service Utilities submenu, scroll to Reset Life Counters and press OK .
2. Select Reset Maintenance Kit usage to reset the Life Counter for all parts included in a
Preventative Maintenance Kit (PMK).
You can choose from the following Preventive Maintenance Kits:
? Preventive Maintenance Kit 1 (PMK1). See Preventive Maintenance Kit #1 for 44-in models
(CH538-67024) on page 406 .
? Preventive Maintenance Kit 2 (PMK2). See Preventive Maintenance Kit #2 (CH538-67040)
on page 407 .
NOTE: For more information about the counters that are reset, See Preventive Maintenance
on page 400 .
It is also advisable to check the status of the Life Counters related to the other Preventive
Maintenance Kits to avoid multiple trips to the customer.
3. Select Reset usage counters to reset the Life Counter of a single part.
? Tubes and Trailing Cable
? Scan-Axis Belt
? Scan-Axis Motor
? Left Spittoon
? Right Spittoon
? Full Bleed Foams
? Carriage
? Service Station

it seems like fuser problem
* turn off then turn on
* check fuser connector.
* reconnect fuser again
* if the problem persist again then change the fuser
before changing fuser check maintenance kit, if it is near 225000 then change maintenance kit

Off hand I'm not certain what maintnance kit is type B but you can try resetting the PM counter at SP7804
001 - Is for Paper
002 - Is for PCD (Drum / Dev unit) except developer
003 - Is developer
004 - Is Fusing
005 - Is Web
006 - All Clear

Hi Mike,
Version 12 does not have KIT MAINTENANCE option, so you did not create a kit. Your test COMBO item just had three items included with it. Close RPE and reopen it. If this does not clear discount, go to each item in INVENTORY MAINTENANCE and check settings there. Change the price and SAVE, then change it back to correct price and SAVE. If you are getting a discounted price, it has to be in INVENTORY MAINTENANCE somewhere.

First of all make sure it is the right kit. The part numbers for teh 8550 and 2424 are very close, one ends in 675 the other in 657, so they have been known to be mixed up.

Problem:
The machine displays the Replace Maintenance Kit after the Maintenance Kit has been replaced.
Cause:
There may two causes for this issue.

1. The machine does not recognize that the Maintenance Kit was removed. This would likely be caused by a defective Drum Maintenance Pivot Plate.
2. The machine corrupts the CRUM on the new Maintenance Kit. This may be caused by a defective Drum Maintenance Pivot Plate or IO Board.

Solution: Fixed! Did not fix.

1. While the Replace Maintenance Kit message is displayed, remove the Maintenance Kit. If the displayed message does not change to "Maintenance Kit Missing," replace the Drum Maintenance Pivot Plate and install a new Maintenance Kit.

If the displayed message changes to "Maintenance Kit Missing," replace the IO Board and then install a different NEW Maintenance Kit. Order an extended maintenance kit. It is very easy to change, just slides in out and into the right side maintenance drawer.
Takes about 2 minutes.

Contact the company that you purchased the maintenance kit from.
They should have the solution or send you a replacement.
I know of no way to change the Xerox printer to match up with a non Xerox maintenance kit. They would not set the machine up to accept non Xerox products since that voids warranties.
