Most impellers are simply thread on. in most cases, there is a flat spot or allen key insert at the back end of the motor shaft. this allows you to hold the shaft in place as you unscrew the impeller by hand

SOURCE: pump seals

The impeller is threaded on to the shaft. The trick is to hold the shaft in order to untread the impeller. The surest method is to disassemble the back of the motor, exposing the opposite end of the shaft. There should be a spot to put a wrench in order to hold the shaft immobile. Then, it's simply a matter of unthreading the shaft. A strap wrench does a great job of holding the impeller without damaging it.

SOURCE: tring to take the pump face off the motor

You have to remove the back cover from the motor. Next loosen the capacitor. Put a 7/16" wrench on the shaft and the pump impeller will screw off by hand.

SOURCE: How to remove impeller on pool pump to replace seal?

First, separate motor and pump. Remove back cover of motor. Drive shaft of motor either has a slot on end for a large screwdriver or a flat on it for a wrench.(usually 7/16) Hold shaft and unscrew impeller.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Neither...it is threaded onto the motor shaft. Lock the shaft at the end opposite the impeller and turn it off counter clockwise.

Won't pump water but can hear it humming?

could be something plugging the impeller, theres I think 3 screws to remove the bottom check if some small stones are plugging it up.that pump should be installed off the bottom of the pit like on a patio block or the like.unplug the cord before messing with it.

How to separate the two impeller flanges of a jacuzzi pump to access the impeller in order to remove the wet end from the motor OR is there some way to remove the wet end of a white JWB 60C Ser no. 06785...

That is an old sealed Jacuzzi pump that can not be repaired. It is one of many reasons why Jacuzzi never did well in the pump business and has gone from owner to owner over the years. Unfortunately your pump is not repairable without destroying it in the process.

Wet ends may still be available. The part numbers I have are:
850100 .5/.75 HP
9011000 1 HP
850200 1.5 HP
856600 2 HP

0199000 Gasket (2 req’d)
4516000 Flange, 2”

Good luck,
