This cable you have is only for transferring data from one computer to another. To transfer data to this drive you must do so over the network or by loading your content onto a USB drive then connecting the USB drive up to the USB port on the WD MyCloud and using the MyCloud app to copy the data from the USB drive to the internal storage of the MyCloud drive. See the link below for more information. WD My Cloud Direct USB Transfer and SSH Access

SOURCE: Nexxtech usb external floppy drive

The simple answer to your question is yes. The trick is getting the external floppy drive.

If you have one you should be able to connect it to you mac and simply drag the files on to your desktop. Depending what the files are you should then be able to still read them and save them on the mac in a new format.

It really depends on what format the files are and what app they where created in.

Floppy disks! I have not come across them for years! The process is quite slow!

SOURCE: I have a MacBook Air computer. I have a WD

Please connect it to a different computer and see if it is recognized. Then you can transfer all the data to that computer. Format this drive on your mac and then copy back the data and attach to your mac.

SOURCE: I am trying to connect

Dell projectors work best with windows operating system. Replacing the projector would still not resolve the problem since it is not compatible with Macintosh computers. I recommend that you contact Macintosh and ask if there is an available patch to resolve the issue.

Why can I not connect a MacBook Air with a WD MyCloud using a Nexxtech USB 2.0 Data Link Cable ?

The USB port of the My Cloud is designed to be used as an extension port. You may use it to attach another external to the My Cloud or device like a camera. If you prefer cable connection between your PC and your My Cloud, I would recommend you to use an Ethernet cable. - Check this similar topic in the official WD community.

Hope this helps

When i have my WDBABM0010BBK 1 TB passport connected to my macbook pro it disconnects easily when i barely touch it. The cord is too sensitive

I would try a different USB cord, and see if that fixes it. Otherwise if it's more sensitive on the side of the hard drive, talk to the store where you bought it. If it's more sensitive on the side of your Macbook, talk to apple.

Hi, my WD hard drive is connected to my macbook, but can't access

check under the system profiler which can be found in the applications folder and then in the utilities folder. See if under usb whether the drive is showing under there. If it is, open up disk utility and use the verify disk to see if there is a problem with the drive, if there is use the repair disk to repair it.

Other things to check try a different usb port on the macbook or a different usb cable.

Hope this helps

I assume that the "2 cables" are actually joined to gether...

Yes just plug the 2 USB connectors in as dirceted.

The USB drive must require more than the 500mA that the USB spec allows for each port. This is a reasonably common solution
