I had same problem, or should I say I still have it, slowly getting worse, and I had replaced the Y board which would be logical based on description of what board controls, but it didn't help. I found out it is the plasma screen, and not worth replacing, so I put up with it until picture is all full of shadows, then will part it out. Last time I had issues with capacitors a few years ago, I spent $400. on several boards, including Y board trying to isolate problem, that is how I learned it didn't help the shadows creeping in after warming up. Live with it or buy a new TV is what I am doing.

Hi there I have a TV Samsung 46 inch model LN46B640R3FXZA It has vertical lines intermittently (more often than not) that slowly show up in different parts of the screen. Thank you Stami

Try cooking the tcon board in the oven...there are some postings on youtube that tell how to do it, if that doesn't help replace the board...Good luck!!

Plasma TV has a black uneven splotch in the middle of the screen

hmmm. sounds like the screen might be damaged. You might have to get a new one. But before you do that I would try leaving it off for a while maybe a few hours or so and see if that helps.

I can't seem to get accurate color, and I've tried a bunch of different custom color and contrast options... what should I do? (There is a sort of sepia tint to the screen)

Try adjusting the Screen voltage. Easiest method I know of: remove rear cover, locate the FBT (has a large red wire running from it that attaches to the back of the tube). You will see 2 or 3 adjustment knobs on it the should be labeled if you look close (screen is normally on the bottom). Turn the TV to a black screen (often an empty input works well). Slowly adjust the screen voltage knob (small screwdriver required) Clockwise, until you see some beam trace lines on the screen. Now, begin slowly turning it Counter Clockwise until the lines are gone and the screen just turns black again. Press the menu button and use the on screen menu and the top knob(s) on the FBT to fine tune the focus. Leave the cover off for the moment and see if your color is better. Repeat the adjustment if needed. If this does not help your situation, you may have something else going on... let me know.

Color splotch when TV is powered on, then TV powers down automatically

Good Day;
It is very common for this model from what you spoke. If you handy return to me, Big Irish, and I will continue to help you.

99.9 % of the time of what you stated it sounds like a shorted CRT, picture tube. I have seen hundreds.
First, call the manufacture and complain about your concern and ask them for a CONCESSION because your tube has gone out.
2.If that does not work ; call a factory authorized service dealer to confirm problem and get an estimate, then return ti #1.
Good Luck, Day, Big Irish. I hope I helped.

Color problem after warm up.

The probelm is caused by either a bad color wheel sensor, color wheel or formatter board. I have the new redesigned sensor assembly and color wheels that I can sell. It is best if you send me the projector for proper diagnosis.

Smeared color image

Since this happens after the set warms up, I would check for bad solder connections or capacitors on the convergence board. If the problem was not readily apparent, then I would consider replacing the board, as I believe the replacement board has been upgraded from the original.
