SOURCE: Card not initialized
While the camera is on, press menu and go all the way to the right. Choose "Set-up" and it will take you to a window with several tabs. Choose the tab called "1" and then choose to format the card here.

SOURCE: Fiji Finepix S5500
solved my own problem, but for the benefit of others.
the camera is held together via about four/five small phillips screws. these need to be removed. the back of the camera will come away from the body. Make sure you don't pull too hard as there is a small connecting ribbon between the camera and the rear circuit board attached to the back. This ribbon is held in place at either end by small brown/tan coloured clips that hinge up to release the ribbon and down to clamp the ribbon to the connections. Try removing the ribbon ends and replacing it. If you are careful you can do this with batteries in place. Make sure you have your card in place, it won't work otherwise. I just realigned the ribbon and the camera works wonderfully. Might help with other errors. also a small ribbon attached to the multi function button, may have the same result for other problems. good Luck.

SOURCE: Fuji finepix lenses
See my other post ref long/wide angle lenses.
Just check out ebay - look for fuji convertor lenses, a pair of basic Raynox long and wide angle lenses are about £100 although you can buy higher spec ones for significantly more. With Jessops going through hard times they tend to put these in their junk/clearance bins - I got my wide angle for £1.39 after waiting for about 3 weeks for it to drop in price. Check out when they are closing or clearing stock. Guess all high st retailers will be in the same boat wherever you are based at the moment so willing to sell-off slow moving stock.

SOURCE: I have a Fujufilm Finepix S5700 digital camera. Does not power up
hold power button down and remove battery at the same time once battery is out put battery into charger, if the light shows red then it needs to be charged if it shows green allow it to stay in the charger for 3 minutes then remove the battery and install in the camera pust the power button on hold for 5 seconds, if the camera comes on your ready to go, if not then you may have damaged the battery pack and will have to replace te battery. If you have a cable that plugs into the camera try using the powrord with battery plugged in, if it does not work then your battery is bad and you will have to purchase from fuji to get the right battery pack.
