THE ACUATER IF ELECTRICAL YO SHOULD HAVE DISCONECTEDE THE BATTER BEFOR YOU DISCONECTED IT AT THE 4 WHEEEL DRIVE IF NOT THEN YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE IT AS THEIR IS NOT RESET ON THEM. I HAVE DONE IT MYSELF MANY TIMES IN PAST.
When you switch it to four wheeel drive does it sound as if the transfer case is doing what it supposed to do? (makes shifting noise) If so its probably the front differental actuator not locking in the front wheels. the part # is 12471631 through GM and costs $131.53, or through Schucks/O'Reily part # is 600103 and costs $85.99.
