Why does the water to the ice maker and water despensor run extremely slow when the new water filter is installed.

The water to the water despensor and ice marker started running extremely slow. The water inlet valve was replaced. When I installed the new water filter the water continued to run slow. With the water filter removed, it run normal. WHY?

SOURCE: KitchenAid Side By Side no ice

check the ice maker, the motor module on these is real bad about the shaft snapping. take out the icemaker and remove the white cover. if you can take the round gear off then the shaft is broken you can probably find the other piece in there if it didnt fall out when you opened it up the module is easy enough to replace make sure the heater on the mold assembly is still good

You did remember to turn it back on? Mine has a handle that detects when the tray is full and you flip it up to turn it off and down to turn it on. Good Luck

SOURCE: We have a KitchenAid side by side Refrigerator

try this:

1. Remove the bucket from the door to get some room.

2. Put a piece of tape on the sensor flapper to hold it down so you won't damage it while removing the ice maker.

3. Remove the ice maker service cover door by spreading the two hinge fingers apart away from the center and the door should lift out of the slot.

4. Remove the screw in the right rear bottom side of the ice maker.

5. After removing the screw that cover should lift up from the rear and just work it out from the rear and you see the electrical harness.

6. On the left track the should be a tab toward the bottom which you need to push up.

7. Push up tab and start working the ice maker towards you pulling it out of the track.

8. Careful with the electrical harness in the back as you're pulling out.

9. Disconnect the electrical plug by lifting the clip on the plug.

10. Remove the side cover on the side module by pulling off.

11. Remove the bottom shield by removing the 3 screws on the bottom.

12. To install reverse the order as it came out.

SOURCE: Describe your KitchenAid KSCS25FKSS Side by Side

This is a common issue with water dispensers in the door. This can be caused by a couple of things, the most common being, air in the line. Proper bleeding of the system will eliminate the issue. Leaking water valves' can cause the same issue, and is the second most common issue.

SOURCE: My Kitchen Aid Superba side by side ice maker is

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Whirlpool refrigerator model WRB322DMBM0 1 with ice maker only. How do I find and change the ice maker filter

The Whirlpool WRB322DMBM01 refrigerator model typically does not have a dedicated water filter for the ice maker. Instead, it relies on an external water filtration system or an in-line water filter that may be installed in the water supply line connected to the refrigerator.

Here's how you can check for and change the water filter for your ice maker:

1. **Locate the Water Supply Line**: Trace the water supply line that connects to the back of your refrigerator. The water supply line is usually a flexible plastic or metal tube that runs from the water source (such as a water pipe or faucet) to the refrigerator.

2. **Check for an In-Line Water Filter**: Look along the length of the water supply line for any inline water filters. These filters may be attached to the water line using compression fittings or push-to-connect fittings. They are typically cylindrical or rectangular in shape.

3. **Inspect the Filter**: If you find an in-line water filter, inspect it to determine its type and condition. Some filters have a label indicating the brand and model number, while others may have a date or indicator showing when it was last replaced.

4. **Replace the Filter (if Necessary)**: If the water filter is due for replacement or is visibly dirty or clogged, follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing it. This typically involves turning off the water supply, disconnecting the filter from the water line, and installing a new filter in its place.

5. **Flush the System**: After installing the new filter, flush the water system to remove any air or debris. Run water through the dispenser or activate the ice maker to purge the system of any trapped air or loose particles.

6. **Monitor Performance**: Monitor the performance of your ice maker and water dispenser to ensure that the new filter is functioning correctly. It may take a few cycles for the water system to fully adjust to the new filter.

If you cannot find an in-line water filter connected to your refrigerator's water supply line, it's possible that your refrigerator does not have a built-in water filtration system for the ice maker. In this case, you may need to consider installing an external water filtration system to improve the quality of your ice and water.

Water dispenser running slowly

Hello Cynthia;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have a water pressure problem. You need at least 60 PSI water pressure to open the solenoid valves. I suspect you are getting small ice cubes.

If you have well water you are not going to get the pressure for fully dispenser flow.

I have experienced bad water filters. One time our techs received a large shipment of bad water filters. Remove the water filter and test the water dispenser.

With low water pressure you may not want to use a water filter

HAVE A KENMORE FRIDGE M.#106.74253400 WATER DESPENSOR STOPPED WORKING AN CAN HEAR IT HUMMING AN ALSO THE ICE MAKER WORKS SO I NO ITS GETTING WATER? THANKS

my kenmore did the same thing, It had a duel water solenoid on it and one that let water into the door water dispenser went bad. also my ice cube started to get smaller, the rubber in the other side of the water solenoid was dry rotting and eventually ruined the ice maker. I replaced the duel solenoid and ice maker and had no more problems. The solenoid is on the back of the fridge, it is what the main water supply connects to.

Icemaker has always been slow. It produces ice, just a couple or 3 times a day. We have to keep our old fridge running just to get enough ice... Cubes are full size, freezer is 0 degrees, not much...

Hi,
The main reason behind an icemaker to make ice slow is the freezer temperature. It needs to be below 10 degrees. Also check the water inlet valve. Water is controlled by a timer and if its obstructed or slow filling, it will not make ice. You could also have a bad motor, defrost heater, or sensor. If these items fail, it usually won't make any ice. Check to be sure the electric plug from the ice maker is plugged in and check the water flow. However if it is filling up with water or if it just has a small amount in the cube maker. If it's making some ice, it's probably not a defrost problem. Check the voltage to the fill valve. Also replace the freezer's water filter, as clogged filters block water flow. Set the ice maker arm to "Off," and then twist the hanging filter cup counterclockwise to remove it. Rinse the cup under running water and discard the old filter cartridge inside. Slide a new filter cartridge into the cup and reinstall the cup assembly in the freezer.

Why would the water start coming out very slow?

If you are referring to water coming out the fountain it could be a leak in the system somewhere allowing air into the lines that run the water, if you are referring to water coming out of the ice maker itself you need a new ice maker the lining is bad

The water despensor and the ice maker both stopped working

sounds like your folter may be plugged up or frozen, the water goes to the filter first then to the dispenser and ice maker look there first.

Ice Maker

First, are you getting water at the door? If not, the filter is installed wrong or there is some packing on the filter you didn't remove.
