Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS -- Only recognized by PC when turned on and In Playback Mode. Then works fine.

It is possible that your cable is defective, if you replaced it already with a new one the problem is in the unit usb output circuitry, there maybe a loose connection or the module inside is bad, profix is needed. I suggest that better get a card reader cause the price of fixing the problem is too much compared to purchasing a new card reader.

Canon powershot sd 750 not turning on after few years of no use

Simplest answer is to replace the battery. If it hasn't been used or charged for so long the battery will be considered 'Old' so it will not hold charge. I think the higher quality brand name batteries for it are usually a reasonable price and not expensive.

Black screen problem with Canon PowerShot SD 750

Did you accidentally press the DISP button on the back of your camera? This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. Try pressing this button one more time to see if it turns the screen back on.

Need to download software for canon powershot sd 600

If you plug in your camera via USB to any computer, you should be able to access the card in the camera and transfer the files to the MY PICTURES location. You can also download Picasa which will do the same thing.

If you must use the software that came with the camera here is the site:

My camera is not hooking up w/ my computer

Hi! Yes, I have pressed the arrow button when hooking it up. I still haven't been able to get it to work. It is covered by a warranty, so I will be sending it back, I guess--if I can't fix the problem myself. Thank you!

Images not uploading to computer

  1. Uninstall and reinstall the Canon's software. Something may have gotten corrupted. This is the simplest and fastest thing .
  2. If that does not work, think if you need Canon's software - you can browse to the Canon directory under "My Computer" (or whatever you computer's name is), and copy the JPG files from under there.
