Hi friend, thank you for your post!

I have identified that a few possibilities to why water is leaking from the bottom of your dehumidifier could be a crack inside your bucket or condensation from the bucket. I would remove your bucket and look it over to see if you can locate any visible cracks or chips. How much water is leaking from your dehumidifier? If you can provide any further information I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

SOURCE: leaking water

It sounds as though the collection pail is not installed correctly, or the hose fitting cap is loose. Make sure that the pail is seated correctly & the cap is tight. Inspect the bottom for rust perforation, too, although this is a long shot. If this fails, then the cold coil may have broken away from it's mount, & is dripping in the wrong place. Inspection with the cover off will reveal any misalignment or broken components. Repair as required.

SOURCE: Our new Santa-Fe Classic dehumidifier

The classic model drains thru the clear hose using gravity. The drip pan in that unit is about 1/2 way up in the cabinet. Make sure the drain hose exits the unit and runs flat or downhill. If the drain hose is coiled vertically or run up hill causing water to trap within the hose it can cause water to back up in the dehumidifier drip pan and overflow causing your problem. If your drain is higher than the base of the dehumidifier, you can raise the dehumidifier or you can purchase a condensate pump kit that will allow the drain water to be pumped up to 15 feet above the dehumidifier.

The drain hose may have become disconnected from the drip pan as well. To check, turn off the humidistat to stop the dehumidifier from running. Next disconnect the cord from the power supply. Remove the six screws holding the cabinet side (with the label) from the cabinet and remove the cabinet side. The drain hose connects to a nipple on the bottom of the drip pan.

Dehumidifier seems to be running fine, but water leaking on floor even with minimal water accumulated in bucket?

Hey friend, thanks for your post!

It sounds like your dehumidifier needs to be professionally cleaned. What could be causing the problem is a buildup on the inside of your dehumidifier where the water drains out and it is causing the water to not drain properly. Additionally, I would check to verify that the drain hole is tightly secured with the plug. I know you stated that the bucket is not leaking but have you removed it to verify? Please comment back if further assist is needed. -Matt

Why does Frigidaire dehumidifier FAD704DWD send water outside unit?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DWD, is putting the water that it collects out onto the floor as oppose to the bucket. I suggest contacting the manufacturer for more information. They should be able to point you in the right direction for assistance. Hope this is helpful.

Leaking dehumidifier When hose is attached it still drains into cotainer

The hose of the hose connector on the unit may be clogged. When this happens, water is diverted to the bucket.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Disconnect the hose from the unit and check the hose for a clog. If none is found, the clog is in the hose connection tubing, inside the dehumidifier. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tire or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though). Insert the tip of the Zip Tie into the hole and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. Gingerly work it past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then pull the Zip Tie out slowly while rotating (twisting) it. This will dislodge any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie be prepared, as some water may follow. Reattach the hose, plug the unit in and turn it ON. Set the humidity extraction level at 35% and monitor the hose for water running out. Be sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet and is sloped downward to the floor drain. As drainage relies on gravity.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The humidifier runs but is not collecting water... so humidity level never drops.

My brand new frigidaire 50 liter dehumidifier has been on for two days and has not collected water from my damp basement. It is on the factory settings: high fan and "CO" (continuous).

Dehumidifier m7dh65b2a

Mine leaks. Had leaked at other times but i took the vacuum cleaner to the front drain spout, that leaks into the removable basin. That worked in the past, but i't's not working now . The water is overflowing at the back of the catch tray and leaking out through the bottom underneath. The holes are clear, so it shouldn't be doing this. I am stumped.
