SOURCE: freezer freeze up

Your model TFX20JRBKWWW uses a defrost timer part number WR9X489 located behind the light shield in the fresh foods compartment. (top back area). Just in case you need to know, the defrost heater is a part number WR51X10101 located behind the back wall of the freezer.

SOURCE: GE TFX20JR side by side/water leaks out freezer during defrost

Yes, you are correct, that is a drain. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush out the drain tube until water will flow out into the drain pan under the refrig. (where the air blown over it will cause it to evaporate)

Hello there,
The refrigerator is actually having a faulty component in it that is why it keeps freezing. The component responsible for such problems are the defrost thermostat, defrost heater and defrost timer. Have them checked and then replace the component that is found to be faulty.
You can go through these tips if you intend to fix this yourself. Defrost thermostat http://www.fixya.com/support/r10513592-test_defrost_thermostat http://www.fixya.com/support/r10513650-replace_defrost_thermostat defrost heater http://www.fixya.com/support/r10523771-test_defrost_heater http://www.fixya.com/support/r10523754-replace_defrost_heater defrost timer http://www.fixya.com/support/r10523722-test_defrost_timer http://www.fixya.com/support/r10523742-replace_defrost_timer

Hope this helped. All the best Elect_Comp

Won,t get cold freezer side not freezing it is a ge side by side . ice is present at the back of freezer side

The problem is most likely the defrost heater element(s) and/or the defrost timer. The defrost heater element(s) are located with the evaporator core behind the access panel inside of the freezer, and can be removed, tested with an ohm meter, (any reading other than infinity would most likely mean the heater element is functional) and replaced if necessary. The defrost timer can be located inside of the refrigerator, or outside of the refrigerator behind the front kick panel, or behind the rear access cover on the back of the refrigerator.

Usually if the evaporator core is freezing up and not allowing air to flow through the evaporator core, (necessary for the system to function properly) then the defrost timer is most likely working and the defrost heater element(s) would most likely be at fault.

Always place a towel on the bottom of the freezer and use a blow dryer to defrost the evaporator core and never use any sharp or hard objects to pick away the ice or the evaporator core can be damaged and the refrigerant will be leak from the system.

I have included some images to help assist you including an image of a defrost timer that is located inside of the refrigerator, and a new defrost heater element or defrost timer can be purchased from an appliance parts distributor.

Let me know if you require any further assistance.

Frost on back wall of freezer, side by side, wont freeze

It's most likely a defrost issue. One or more of your defrost components have failed. Defrost components are defrost thermostat, defrost heater, and defrost timer or board depending on model
