There is a screw hidden under a lable, feel for a dimple and remove the screw. If there is no label then it's probably a snap lock on the housing.

Printer error 5C00 printer carriage not moving across pixma ip3300

Fixing this error is much easier as it looks.

1. Unplug the printer completely.

2. Move the ink cartridge cradle gently to the left.

3. Over to the right at it's usual resting place you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and the area around should be covered with ink.

4. Get a microfibre cloth and press down on this pad - it's not fixed so should come away with the cloth, otherwise use tweezers gently.

5. Squeeze the pad several times between your thumb and forefinger while inside the microfiber cloth to remove ink build up.

6. Then when not much ink comes out on the cloth, clean the area in the printer around the pad so that looks free from ink too.

7. Then position the pad back in place, move the cradle back into position, plug in and switch on - should work fine now.

But it's worth checking for any paper caught near the ink pad as my error occurred after a paper jam. Good luck smile.png

I get Service error 5C00 for my Cannon i80

Canon USA has a down loadable file for the manual.

Here is the link.

Here is what is being said of this error on the forums:

5c00 error code

A 5c00 error relates to the sensor in the purge unit, which is where the carriage stops on the right hand side of the printer. You may find that the ink has built up in the purge unit and it will need to be washed out in warm water. The sensor in the purge unit will need to be removed before washing the unit.

To reset canon i80 after fixing ink overflow, i was able to follow this reset. i90 i believe is the same.

Try the following procedure:
1)Turn off the printer. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel and Power buttons at the same time.
2)Release the Resume/Cancel button. (continue to hold down the power button)
3)While continuing to hold down the power button press the Resume/Cancel button 3 times then release both buttons.
4)The LED should now be green. Press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times. The led should be green.
Power it off and back on and you should be good to go!

Good luck :)

Ps2 will work

your ps2 isn't reading cause your drive is dying. you can get a lil more out of it by opening the ps2 up, (void your warranty if you have one you will yess....) after flipping the top part of the cover to the side (careful the power and reset button have a cable still connected) you will want to remove the screws on the dvd rom, 4 lil tiny screws. then remove the cover. you will see the lens and behind that a White GEAr about the size of quarter. mark the teeth that meet the metal clip on the left hand side of it with a marker. then twist the gear clockwise slowly (click click click click) then you will hear a sound and the laser will drop down. now do 2 to four clicks clockwise and then put the thin cover back on the ps2 and boot it up and try a game out. (please place cover back over dvd rom area for the dvd's fly off and then the laser will melt a hole in your brain.) its' basically readjusting the laser to read the cds. the blue ones are hard really hard to get it to ready but silvers and ps1 are easiest. so if it dosen't read the dvd or cd shut off the system take the thin cover back off and do 2 to 4 more clicks clockwise and repeat until the cd reads.

Won't read disc.

Hi Crashley41 and Von281,

Since you have the bid Phat mode; you will have better luck at fixing your PS2.
This is for the Phat PS2 consoles with the drawer that comes out to put the CD in. Procedure is different for Slim PS2.
  1. Disconnect power and turn the case upside down.
  2. Remove the screw covers to expose the case screws. These are little square pieces or square rubber pads. You can use a thin knife blade to pry the hard plastic squares up.
  3. Remove all the screws.
  4. Remove the Warranty sticker to the right edge of the power socket.
  5. Turn the PS2 over to set it right side up.
  6. lift the top cover from the back and pull it forward slightly to clear the CD tray. Be careful of a possibly Ribbon cable attached to the lid going to the Reset/Eject buttons. Roll the cover over to the right leaving the ribbon intact.
  7. Remove the CD tray lid.
  8. Polish the Laser lens, and remove any lint or hair from the CD area. Use Alcohol and cotton swabs to clean the laser lens. By the way, Alcohol will damage a PS2 Slim lens. All lens are not created equally.
  9. Hook up the power and A/v Cables.
  10. Remove the little white disc from the CD tray lid.
  11. Place a Disc on the spindle, and cap the disc with the little white piece that you removed from the CD tray cover.
  12. Boot up the PS2 and test it, Continue cleaning until you get it to work.
  13. Put it back together, and you’re in business.
If you still have trouble reading discs. Click on " Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. Then on the next page click on "Video Game Consoles". Pick a Repair shop to get your PS2 repaired. Fixya has some good ones dedicated to Playstations.

My PS2 will not play PS2 games, but it will play PS1 games

Hi
If it will play DVD's this is a good sign. You will only need to clean the lens of the laser. Also clean the hub that the Disc rides on.
