SOURCE: hunter programable thermostat

RE CO means Auto Recovery. In my users manual it states:

Hunter's Auto Recovery feature meets the Energy Star guideline for energy efficiency by allowing the heating or cooling system to recover gradually from an energy-saving set-point temperature to a comfort set-point temperature.

Auto Recovery calculates how early to turn your system back on. so that the room temperature is already comfortable by the start of the comfort temperature program period. Auto Recovery works in both heat and cool modes.

*When the thermostat is in Auto Recovery mode, the display will alternate "RECO" with time and the program indicator will flash.

*Auto Recovery can be disabled by sliding the Recovery switch on the circuit board to disable. (this is located inside the thermostate)

*Auto Recovery can be cancelers manually if HOLD/RETURN is pressed during the recovery process.

*Auto Recovery will be canceled and change to temporary manual override mode if the set-point is adjusted during the recovery process.

Hope This Helped!!

hunter thermostats are not the highest quality. on the back of the thermostat there should be a not well identified reset button. You can locate and push this to attempt to fix the problem. Or purchase a new (i would suggest Robertshaw or braeburn) thermostat and install.

SOURCE: Hunter Thermostat fan won't turn off

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, I am inclined to suspect 3 possibilities:

  • sticking relay contacts (if used) (a possibility, least likely);
  • dusty thermal sensor/switch for the fan (likely);
  • time delay. design feature, will power down the fan only after a certain period that the heater has turned off. This is to dissipate residual heat not only on the heater but on the immediate surroundings of the heater element (most likely).
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

My Hunter model 44132 thermostat is flashing AUX. Why and how do i correct this problem?

When your thermostat displays "Aux Heat", this is simply a reminder that the second stage of heat is now ON. This occurs whenever the room temperature drops more than 2 degrees and activates the Second Stage of Heating (Aux Heat). This is a normal operation of your 2 Stage Heat Pump thermostat and it will not affect your thermostats performance at all.

Flashing number 2 code

Remove batteries.
Insert a paperclip or similar object into the "reset" hole and hold in for 10+ seconds.
Insert new batteries.
This should reset the thermostat to factory settings and clear all programs, and it should work normally afterwards.

If the error occurs again within a month, then call Hunter tech support at 888-830-1326 between 7am - 7pm US Central timezone.

Hunter Fan Model 44260 eats batteries

you have to replace the thermostat . problems like this are common with latest electronic thermostats from china . most are going bad in less than 4 years . it so bad ,i am telling anyone who asks , to please keep there old regular thermostat , or if you have one of the old electronic ones (made over 10 years ago) hold on to it , it will last forever.... somehow when we moved the factory to china they forgot how to make thermostats that last ........ if you plan to rate this answer , please rate it 3 or 4 stars . this will help me stay in the paid answer department
