Bottom oven is directly linked to the clock, If the clock is on but not set ie 0:00 or 12:00 flashing it won't work, set the time (doesn't have to be right, just not flashing) try oven again. If this is not the problem please contact me again and we'll look further. Cheers
Hello there Gary and welcome to FIXYA Usually
when an oven won't bake properly or stops baking , it's because the bake igniter is weak or
burned out. The igniter is a small, round or rectangular device, that's
about 1 inch by 4 to 8 inches. It's near the burner itself. The
burner is the tube-type device the gas flows through before it's
ignited. It has many small holes on the sides to let the gas, when
ignited, form a long, low flame. If the igniter is weak, if it glows red
but doesn't get hot enough, or if it's burned out, the gas doesn't flow
to the burner and the burner won't ignite. If this is the problem, you
may need to replace either the igniter or the gas safety valve. Usually
the igniter is to blame. I would disconnect the power to the oven then unplug the wiring assy and remove the part then clean all of the terminals really good then reassemble it then try the oven again if it still does not work properly i would go ahead and replace that part ok Please keep me posted on how this is going i can give you more help but this is the most common problem ok? Best regards Mike
I am not sure how you tested the capacitor but your issue is a classic one for a bad capacitor. The second problem is not very clear. With that being said, the wire could be grounding somewhere other than the ignitor. Please clarify a little more and I will help you work thru this.
Might be a typo in the manual typically the latch is moved to the right to close and after clean is over move to the left to open. BE SURE TO REMOVE RACKS BEFORE CLEANING
There are lots of different timers on fisher and paykal
The last one I reset was a few weeks ago it involves pressing 2 buttons at the same time I think it was the oven on and oven off buttons but I am not sure
You will know when you have pressed the right 2 buttons the display will stop flickering set the clock time using the up down arrow buttons
The auto light should not be on if it is press the manual button

do a ohm reading on the element to see if it is not burnt out ...disconnect at least one of the leads to it before you test it so as not to get feed back through the system. if that is good them the control is bad the voltage your getting may be back feeding thought the circuit. unplug before you do the ohm test!!!
next time send the brand name and model number so i can look up your machine,if it's a gas stove most likely it will be a bad ignitor, even if the ignitor glows it still could be bad,if the flame doesn't ignite and the ignitor is glowing change it out,if it isn't glowing pull out the ignitor and check it with a meter, common problem.
