My 1005mfp HP printer scanner error 20 how I

Hi,
Hp are tricky scanners to install and setup. You need to unplug the USB cable, power on the scanner and begin a fresh setup.

Let the software tell you when to reconnect the USB cable to the computer. Let it finish setup and reboot computer. Once in windows, the setup will complete automatically.

Go in START menu and click on the HP Solution Center in the HP folder to activate the scanner. You can't jsut press the SCAN button on the scanner. It won't work. You need to start the software first or use Photoshop.

Also, the way to fix this Error 20 is to first ensure that your HP Printer is set up to be the default printer on your PC. It's often the case that the printer you have on your system will either not be the default, or will have some sort of error that will prevent it from being properly used. You should click onto "Printers & Faxes" on your system and then right click onto your HP Printer, and select "Set As Default". This will allow your PC to use the printer every time you print, removing some confusion.

Says printer is offline, how do I change?

Hi there!
There are many factors why the printer is displaying Offline.
1. The cable is not connected securely 2. There is another printer driver installed after reconnecting the USB cable 3. A different port is selected instead of the USB port 4. The printer is turned off
HP has a utility that can automatically fix the issues for you and even make the offline printer online or detect if the issue is with the connectivity or with the driver.
  1. Go to www.hp.com
  2. Click Support & Drivers on the upper left hand corner of the webpage
  3. Click on Drivers & Software
  4. Type in your model PSC 1410v
  5. Select your operating system
  6. Select Utilities and Click on HP Print Diagnostic utility.
  7. Click Download and save it on your desktop
  8. Run the utility once download is complete.
  9. It will then tell you which is causing the issue and will give you either a Fix, Update, Uninstall button to fix the issue
**To check on your exact Operating System and system type (wheter 32 or 64 bit) -click Start on your Computer right click on Computer and left click on Properties.,
Hope this helps! Thumbs up if it does. Thanks

I replaced the ink cartridge, put it does not print. I tried to get it to align, but it does not accept the command.

1. Try reinstalling the driver after uninstalling the present driver.
2. On the installed printer driver, right click and check whether the printer is on line or off line, Make sure that it displays "Use Printer Offline" that means that the printer is already online.
3. Now give a print and check.
4. try reconnecting usb cable or replacing.

Printer was moved and is now telling me 'printer off line'??

Turn off your printer and disconnect the usb cable from the computer, restart your computer, now reconnect your printer to the computer's usb port, switch on, and check the status of the printer whether it's still offline or online. If it's offline, click "Start" > "Printers and Faxes", Right click on the printer's icon and select 'User printer online", give a print command and see if it's printing or not.
If the problem still persists, disconnect the printer, uninstall the drivers, restart your computer, and again install the printer's drivers and connect the printer when you are asked to do so. This will fix your problem if there's no physical or internal damage on the printer and the cable.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to you get your printer online to print

So, tell me, have you ever gone to print something out and you can't do it because you get an error message that says "Printer Offline?" It happens to the best of us, but that doesn't make it any less annoying! So, what can you do when this happens? Luckily, you have a few options you can try when you need to get your printer back "online." Would you like to hear about them? I thought you might. Well, keep reading and you will!
The first thing you should try is simply turning your printer off, wait a minute or so and then turn it back on. That may fix your problem right then and there. If not, try disconnecting the cable that hooks into your computer and then reconnect it. After you do that, you'll also want to restart your computer to make sure everything lines back up. If you're still having trouble after that, try sending something to your printer to print and when you see the printer icon pop up in your taskbar, double click on it. Then go to the File menu and make sure the option of "Work Offline" is unchecked.
Another thing you can try is right clicking on that printer icon and clicking the choice that says "Set printer online." Or, if all else fails, there may be an actual button on your printer that can help you get it connected again. If your printer has one, it will say something like "Online" and you can press that button to reconnect your printer so that it will print once again. Now, all printers are different, so don't hold me to that, but if your printer does have that button, it's an easy fix for this type of problem. Hopefully your printer situation can be fixed with one of these suggestions, but if not, you can always refer to your user manual or contact the manufacturer for additional help. Good luck, my printing friends!

The printer is off line and I can not get it back on line, I disconnected the cables for 5 minutes and then reconnected them, however, the printer is still off line.

if you are using Windows XP Operating System, perform the steps below:
1. Click Start --> Printers and Fax.
2. Right click the printer icon and check the following:
a. Check whether the All-in-One is set as default printer.
b. Ensure that the there is a check mark on the "Use printer online". If you have the Use printer offline, make it online by selecting the option.
c. Ensure that there is no check mark on the Pause printing.
