How do I fix the horizontal lines that go from the top of the screen to the bottom? The picture isn't as sharp as before. I unplugged the TV for 20 minutes and plugged it into an unused socket with no luck. I also purchased a new wire with red,white and yellow jacks. No luck. I have never had a problem with this television until now. PLEASE HELP!

Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.

You have a bad buffer ic,which is part of the lcd panel.Definiately call sharp to get it repaired.If it doesn't have a warranty,persistence through sharp will get you results.

Go to menu and settings and look for OVERSCAN and set this to on and hey presto no more white lines no matter what ratio your in.

My new TV LCD Samsung LC32C530 Series 5 has one half darker and with less contrast than the other.This is noticeable now always. There is a distinct and clear division down exactly half the display which separates the dark and light sides.. Any ideas?Thank you.

this is a reply to the clever person who has just saved me an expensive call out from an LG ENGINEER i had developed a very thin pinstripe line down the tv that became very annoying after ringing LG and speaking to someone who just wanted to do factory re-set and hope it worked i decided to take the advice off the person who said to bang it on back ???????????? so i did and what do you know it worked ??????? so it would seem that technology has NOT changed much in the last 50 years BECAUSE thats just what we used to do when i was a young un watching crackerjack IF THE TV WENT WONKY GIVE IT A CRACK cheers matey you should get a job on LGs helpline many thanks .......JIM
