I have a similar problem, i got the phone shortly after christmas, and never had much problems, but unfortunately, about a month ago i dropped it and theres a crack across the screen, but today, the screen blacks out randomly and does this everytime after i enter in my pin, it seems to work normally when no sim is inserted,, but the screen appears to be faulty now, i rang my service provider, and it appears that because there is a crack in the cover screen, that they will not fix this problem for free... so much for 12 month warrenty.. or is it 24 month?

Stuck shutter problem. If you purchased it Christmas, it's still under warranty. Call 1-800-OK-CANON for free warranty repair of this issue. For others reading this with a similar problem, but no chance of warranty repair, see this link for simple troubleshooting steps that might help.
Hello. Unfortunately this is the major problem of touch screen phones: the touch screen gets broken and has to be replaced. I had a similar problem with my samsung (only after 3-4 months). The best thing is to get it to a service to replace the touch screen. Please don't forget to vote me. Regards, Achil

We're having the exact same problem with our daughters iXL, she was playing with it all the sudden the screen went black so we changed the batteries. That didn't work so we got out the manual and it said to use a Q-tip to clean the battery connections and replaced the batteries (we even tried different types of alkalines). We tried to call customer service but they are only available from 6am-3pm Mon-Fri in our area which is bull**** some of us have jobs where our lunch is short and we can't spend it on the phone. I'm really mad that her favorite Christmas present is now a useless hunk of plastic.
had the same problem... remove the battery for an extended period of time and try again. unfortunately for me the phones screen now refuses to turn on, the keyboard woks now but the screen is completely black- best of luck with yours
Unfortunately there might no be a fix for this type of failure unless the LCD is open and perform a few measurements in the circuitry. Since the TV is less then a year old, I would suggest to contact the vendor or manufacturer to have it repair under warranty, most electronics devices carry one year warranty.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
Ive reviewed and assisted anoter person who had a similar problem that caused the tv to malfunctioin simialr to yours. After doing some short research and the other person who had the problem, came to find out that 4 resistors failed on the main board causing this to happen. It also could be the backlight of your Plasma screen tv, or your Plasma screen itself is shot.
I would recomened that if you have no active warenty to give a visual inspection of the Tv, via removing the rear black plastic pannel to see if any of the corisponding chips have any burn marks or excessive heat stress. these items seem to be failing about the 12 month mark
Something similar happened to me. Unfortunately it could not be repaired. I had to buy another phone and now that phone does not want to turn on. It is on "local mode". Whatever that means... The new phone is also a Nokia. I don't think will buy Nokia again.
