Hello,
The Magenta or RED toner cartridge should be removed and double check that you have indeed removed the pull tab located on the side of the cartridge which will remove the sealing tape off the new toner cartridge.
The YELLOW toner cartridge on the other hand if it is not new then it is perhaps empty and needs to be replaced. Another option is to remove the YELLOW toner cartridge from the machine, Tap it and shake it side to side to loosen the toner that is in it, and replace it back into the machine, this will usually make it start to work again!
Good Luck!

SOURCE: Color toners are empty

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies. Change from stop at out, to override at out. It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.

You can dab the bottom of the color cartridge on a damp paper towel, check the streaks left behind, if there is no yellow either there is no yellow in the cartridge or it's just plugged. Dab it a few times on a wet towel, if still no yellow, you need another cartridge.

Testimonial: "Thank you. You were right on! Sadly enough, this is the second consecutive cartridge that was without yellow. Is this a common flaw from HP?"

When the paper prints, the color is missing in areas. It looks like a streak mark down the page. The black ink is full color, they yellow and cyan have a white, non-printed streak down the center, and...

Inspect the rollers for dirty or damaged surfaces. Clean up any loose toner or other debris in the machine. Note: avoid touching any roller with bare skin; especially in the fuser section or the photosensitive drum in the toner section. Skin oil can cause poor print quality or premature degradation of the roller surface.

change the cartridges. Theres nothing else that can alter the color like that without rewriting the drivers. B4 you do, take each one out, shake gently from side to side to even out any toner, and try again.If they print better, your toner is low.

Hi, I just aquired an HP 4600n color laser printer, it is used but it works good for text but when printing pictures it prints a really bad quality mainly due to a buch of (mostly yellow)lines running the...

First. Examine the toner cartridges by inspecting the surface of the drum of each color cartridge. Score marks? Replace toner cartridge(s).
Next. for vertical lines from top to bottom, you will want to inspect the fuser real quick to see if the Hot roller is scored or worn or discolored or any adhesives are adhered to roller. Should be perfectly smooth and uniform in color.
Next, do the consumables life page which is in a menu function.
Information --> Supplies Status Page.
This will tell you the life remaining of the image transfer kit (C9724A) as well as fuser unit. These indicators will help you decide if the consumables are the first cause of the print quality issues you are observing.

Replaced black toner..now printer won't print any

In this case, actually it is not the Black toner that got depleted. Here the message being displayed indicate that one of the color Toner supply need to be replaced as it got depleted and currently the printer is printing in Black and white using the Black toner cartridge.

in this case, to troubleshoot these issues please try performing the following and check for the results.

* 1. Check for the level of the toner cartridges:

a) Check from the HP Toolbox application. Here are the steps to be performed from your PC:

* Access the Toolbox software.
* Select the Status tab.
* Select the Device status option.

Here you can check for the supplies status in terms of the % remaining for each toner cartridges.

b) By checking the supplies status from the printer control panel display.

On the printer display when printer is in Ready mode the supplies status can be checked from the supplies level indicator. Each toner cartridge and the Imaging drum level will be indicated by a bar which varies according to the level of the supplies present.

c) Print the supplies status page from the printer.

* On the printer control panel menu, press Menu .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Reports, and then press Enter .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Supplies Status, and then press Enter .

If any of the color toner cartridges and the Imaging drum have a low supply level replace them with genuine HP print cartridges.

The part numbers of the consumables are as follows:

* Black print cartridge - Q3960A
* Cyan print cartridge - Q3971A
* Magenta print cartridge - Q3973A
* Yellow print cartridge - Q3972A
* Imaging Drum - Q3964A

HP LaserJet 1500... prints color yellow ONLY

It's possible that the toner in the cartridge is not evenly distributed. You can redistribute toner if you gently shake the cartridge from side to side, then reinstall it to see if this affects performance. Please also see this article.
You might wish to use the guided troubleshooting option available from HP support here. Or have a look at the troubleshooting section in the user manual here. Then clean the engine & calibrate the printer, as described pg. 88.
If that's no help, please see this forum post and the linked attachments within.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Out of toner........ but not really.....

Print a Supplies Status page to see the actual pages printed...

To print the Supplies Status page from the printer, on the printer control panel, select
Reports Menu, Supplies Status, and then Print Supplies Status page.

If the page count from the Supplies Status page indicates that the toner should not be in need of replacement then you have a bad cartridge. Actually, the cartridge is probably fine but the chip on the cartridge has got a problem. Return the cartridge to O.D. and get another one. Unfortunately, chips that don't work properly in not all that unusual so HP has a pretty easy return policy.

Hope this helps.
