Hooking up a intellitrox tach on motorcycle but instructions only show for 4 6 8 cyls

Most Intellitrox Tachs will work on 1,2,4,6,8,10,and 12 cylinder engines. The mini-tach (MS9002) only works on 4,6 and 8 cylinders.

So if you have the mini-tach and do not have 4 or 6 or 8 cylinders, you should use a different tach. If you have a different unit, or have 4 cylinders, then see the second step below from their installation guide.

To change settings: (a light tap on the left button will engage the menu system: the right button will then be used to adjust each specific setting.) 1. Leftbuttonpressed:
Set # of digits in RPM display, using right button, display shows: (hundreds) 9900, (tens) 9990, and (ones) 9999.
2. Leftbuttonpressedagain:Set # of cylinders using right button, display shows: 01_C 02_C 04_C 06_C 08_C 10_C 12_C
3-A. Left button pressed again:
Set first digit on max RPM on gauge bar display (in thousands) using right button, display shows: 10__B to 99__B
3-B. Left button pressed again:
Set second digit max RPM on gauge bar display (in hundreds) using right button, display shows: 10__B to 99__B
4-A. Left button pressed again:Set RPM first digit shift light threshold (in thousands) using right button, display shows: 10_S to
90_S
4-B. Left button pressed again:Set RPM second digit shift light threshold (in hundreds) using right button, display shows: 19_S
to 99_S
5-A. Left button pressed again:Set first digit output switch RPM threshold (in thousands) using right button, display shows: 10_S
to 90_o
5-B. Left button pressed again:
Set second digit output switch RPN threshold (in hundreds) using right button, display shows: 19_S to 99_o
6. Left button pressed againWill return to normal mode, or if there is no new information to access, after 8 seconds, the
gauge automatically returns to normal mode.
When you have finished programming the settings, turn off the ignition to retain them in the gauge's memory. Next time you turn on the ignition, your new settings will be the default.

How to connect the mono headset

If you're trying to convert a STEREO output to feed MONO headphones, the best is to use a resistive splitter network as shown.
There are adapters out there that simply short the two L/R signals from the stereo, but you run a risk of overloading the output stages of your amp.
The resistive network places a current-limiting resistor on each stereo output in series, so eliminating shorts and overload.
If using a mic-enabled headset, the jack has 4 connectors, the back one nearest the plastic case being for MIC.
Mono: Tip, Sleeve.
Stereo: Tip, Ring, Sleeve.
Incl Mic: Tip, Ring, Sleeve, Mic.
Tip is Left, usually Green.
Ring is Right, usually Red.
Sleeve is common GND, usually bare copper or black.
Mic can vary according to manufacturer. Seen striped colors, white, red, purple.
These thin shellac-coated wires are sometimes difficult to solder, so here are some tips:
Using a combination of fine emery paper, craft-knife and flame, try to burn/scrape/clean about 5 mm from each wire.
Copper should be shiny without shellac color showing at end.
To burn the shellac off, best hold the wire 5 mm or so back with pliers or fingers. The shellac varnish may ignite the whole wire if you don't block it first.
Diagrams and drawings should help to clarify the text.

Is there any way to connect my casio ctk1100 to a laptop??

Yes. But it depends which connectors you have on your laptop. If you have a small (3.5mm) stereo jack input, then you need one cable with a small stereo 3.5mm jack on one side and a big stereo 6,3mm jack on the other side. (Take a look at the picture below).
Then you plug in side with a small stereo jack in your laptop "line in" input and other side of the cable with a big stereo jack to your Casio CTK-1100 Phones/Output plug on a keyboards rear side...

Be sure to adjust the volume on both the Casio (output volume) and laptop (input volume)...

Cheers!

Any one have an idea how to fix the denon ah ncw500 bluetooth issue? Wireless play only one channel but play normally on wired. Any idea? Tnx!

Unless you have a screwy setting on the broadcasting device (try other known good bluetooth devices first to rule this out), then your problem is highly likely the same as mine....

There are bendable pins within the headphone jack on the headphones that are used to determine when the jack is in use or not. They are cheaply made / designed to fail and when they do, this is one of the outcomes (the others are, no sound at all because both switching leads are broken/bent/coated, or no sound in the opposite speaker). Some people have had luck with compressed air and/or a small qtip dipped in strong pure alcohol (isopropyl or something, not drinkable alcohol that has sugars in it...) to clean the jack in the case it is gunked up / coated. But in my case it was physically bent (I presume) and cleaning did nothing.

I soldered the 2 pins/footpads in the far left corner when the opening of the jack is facing towards you (the right channel of the headphone was the one that was dead for me... i think, you could possibly need to fix the lead on the opposite side if your left channel wasn't working but I found the leads to fix mine by using a pair of tweezers to connect the leads while the device was running on bluetooth) jack itself together with a small piece of wire. Seems good so far!

Millions of devices are affected by this issue from headphones to laptops and micro-soldering totally sucks. This would seem to be a designed flaw....

How to dub tape to tape

Hi Dale,

You're kind of light on details of the equipment you're going to use - so the best I can do is provide generic instructions. You'll need two devices - one must be able to perform playback for source media and the other for recording or copying duties. Inspect the jacks provided on the rear of both units. Most provide standard RCA type "Phono" jacks for left and right audio channels. Connect a stereo patch cable (with plugs that match the jacks of the playback and recording devices) between the left and right OUTPUT (or "PLAY") jacks on the source device and the left and right INPUT (or "RECORD") jacks on the recording device. Insert the source tape, cd, album, etc. in the device that will playback the original and insert a high quality blank media into the device that will provide recording capabilities. Begin playing the source. Set options such as tape bias, Dolby Noise Reduction, etc. on both source and recording devices to match media in each. Advance the playback source to a point that contain the loudest sections. Set recoding levels by monitoring the VU meters on the recoding device and vary the input adjustment levels so that only the loudest prortions of the program just begin to briefly "flirt" with the 0Db or red zone of the meter. Signals that cause the meter to indicate into this area and beyond begin to overload the amount of information that can be recorded on the blank media and often result in muddy audio quality during playback, later. You should also record the same section repeatedly with differnt options (bias, noise reduction, etc.) to actually hear the difference to determine which sounds best to you. Once levels are set, queue the playback device and start recording. In the case of tape, allow enough recording time to let the leader section of the tape to pass beyond the recording heads for several seconds or more. Once the desired amount of silence has elapsed, play the source program. Allow it to run to completion using both sides in the case of tape and then playback the entire new recording to make sure it recorded without any issues.

ViewSonic VX2450WM - sound disappeared. I connected the monitor today, it worked fine. I then tried to connect external speakers and boom - the sound is gone. I can only hear the sound from the laptop....

great post a Viewsonic with sound , none of mine have it.
2007 monitor old, most are dead now.
I hate those dinky shrill speakers inside.
NO PC told (a nebular Laptop)
no OS told
but windows has a sound mixer that allows me to pick 4 or more sound output devices, 1 at a time not all at once.
well when you connect the external speakers to any PC
3.5mm phone jack outputs, that switch in that jack cuts the sound inside the laptop dead BY DESIGN.
why would you want trash shrill speakers inside the laptop with
super find sounding external speakers at the same time.
trash + great sound = trash. why want this??? no body does.
nor if you plug in head phones to same jack the same thing happens speakers go dead, for privacy, (you and the others around)
lets see
external speakers not told, usb or 3.5mm phone plugs.
headphones USB or 3.5mm or both>?
and the View sonic has speakers? let me look now.
the manual shows
(stereo mini jack, for VX2450wm-LED only<<< got this?
the manual shows 3.5mm mini audio in jack
this means this opted monitor as amplified speakers inside
and when connected to phones on any laptop the laptop for sure has its internal speakers muted,

NO textual speakers told. besides monitors
all external speakers must have and amp , audio power amp
or the speaker are dead.
the phone jacks NOT drive any raw wired speakers ever.
same with desktop green rear jack is line out or phones.
not raw spearks
if you do have AMP speaker it needs to have power to run..
AC or DC power packs.
the amp must be good, some old ones are not.
it must amplified the sound to the actual speakers.
the switch in the 3.5mm phones jack is hardware
and disables the internal LAP speakers by Design.
make sure the sound mixer is set to the correct output;.\
