any time you put a disk in

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What burning software are you using? Does this happen any time you put a disk in, or only when you are trying to burn?

  1. Shut down the program that you are installing or running that uses the DVD-ROM drive.
  2. Wait 10 to 15 seconds, and then open the DVD-ROM drive by pushing the eject button on the DVD-ROM drive.

Please guide the steps to install the norton antivirus 360 latest version one user

The easiest way, open your CD drive and with that open shut down your computer. Insert the Disk in the drive and close it then restart the computer. The installation program should start auto automatically as windows starts. The reason I said to shut down then reboot with the disk in the drive is to allow the program to scan your system before windows starts to speed up the install process. If you insert the Disk and close the drive while the computer is on it will auto start and scan the system anyway but it takes longer. Make sure you stop and uninstall any other anti virus programs or Anti Adware programs, such as Spy Bot, you may have running, the Adware programs only need to be closed.

I need to burn dvd with phptos and vidio on the one disk

Hi,
  • Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then select "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Windows Explorer."
  • Open the DVD burner tray and insert a blank DVD or CD. Close the tray.
  • Navigate to the hard drive that has the files to be burned. Click on the files or folder to be burned, and drag to the DVD burner drive icon in Windows Explorer.
  • Select "File," then "Write these files to CD." Ensure that all the files that need to be written to the CD or DVD are on the list in the temporary files area that can be found in Windows. The CD writing wizard will open; follow the instructions in the wizard.
  • Remove the CD or DVD when finished and apply label. Close drive tray.
Thanks, SF

CD/DVD drive stuck CLOSED and NO pin hole

Use my computer and select the drive (eg drive E:). From pull down menu "File" select "eject". While the disk door attempts to open (hear slight movement of tray) massage the door with your fingers. This is done by smoothing out the across front door panel with your finger tips and pushing in and releasing pressure from door. Door should slide open partially and close again. Repeat. The eject button nearside the disc tray doesn't seem to work as well as selecting "File" and "Eject" from the menu. Something to do with the door cycle is less with the direct eject button.

after you downoad, run it, click yes to all filters found to remove. close program.

reinstall your preferred burning app (1 prog installed at a time and test burn)
this is to replace the filter entry that was corrupt

Cd/dvd drive won't stay shut

I have the dv9000z. If I do NOT push the DVD drive tray all the way in until it CLICKS shut, then it OPENS again after 1-2 seconds. This is normal. I have found that most times when I close the DVD tray drive, I am not pushing it in far enough, because the top of the DVD tray is rubbing against the laptop's case. If I just press down VERY SLIGHTLY and push the DVD tray in, the tray will fully close and CLICK shut. This works for me. Good luck.
