Screen goes blank aftert 10 mins sound stays on though, wont come on again till been switched off for ages, and then picture still only 10 mins then sounds stays on again

when the TV goes dark, shine a flash light on the screen- hold it very close.
if you see a little bit of the image, your backlight has failed. That would mean you would need to replace the LCD panel.

Mikomi tv,got sound but no picture ?

If the picture comes on initialy then goes off it will be most likely a fault on the inverter board... it the picture doesn't show at all then the backlights could be blown or its a power supply fault not powering the inverter circuit

TV Turns on picture comes on for 30 seconds then picture goes off and sound stays on. Even after leaving tv on the sound stays but the picture does not come back on. Its a westinghouse SK-32H540S

This is not the fix for this TV. I guarantee that none of the capacitors exhibit the common bulging characteristics of a faulty capacitor. The common answers to everyone's questions are to replace the capacitors. Most likely the culprit is the inverter board.

Sound no picture

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common problem are the power supply for the screen itself. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board. Something you may want to look at for your problem. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

Picture goes black mins after watching

Bad flyback transformer. It has a short in the winding making the Horizontal output transistor heat up so when its too hot the set goes into protection.

I have a 50inch lg ready tv but wont switch on red power light there but when i switch on light goes away for 15 mins but tv wont come on

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other part inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.

The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

I have a poloroid 15" tla-01511c the picture comes on at first then goes black with just sound in about 30 seconds

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.

Sony kp-61hs10 tv, has sound but picture goes black after 3 min.

I just had the same problem. If your lucky it might be a free 5 minute fix. The five light flashes mean impropper current. I took the front grill off, then behind that is another black cover, I took that off and noticed the circuit boards COVERED in dust. I then took an air can duster and blew off all the dust... works like new. No more flashes and in an out picture. The collection of dust was interfereing with the electrical current.

The tv picture goes out after 20min. The sound stays on.

Is there a "sleep" button on the TV Remote Control or the TV Menu?
