Is it possible to adjust shower mixer temperature?

I've adjusted the hot valve all the way in (almost off) and the cold is all the way out (completely on) but I still can't get the shower to be cold. I've also turned my water heater down to it's lowest setting. Is there another adjustment that I can make to where the water mixes (other than the regular temperature adjustment? The regular temp. adjuster is all the way to cold, but it's still too hot.

Now my best guess is that you kept heater too high for a long time which means that the pipe carrying hot and cold water got touched and water became hot So turn off the heater for while and let the pipes cool off then turn the heater on at a low setting ...

Why do I only have hot water in the shower

sounds like either the cold water that feeds the other half got shut off, or the mixer in the valve for controlling the water temperature is broken....most likely the water got shut off. better go to the water source and trace the cold water feed pipe ,looking for a shut off valve....it could also be behind the shower panel, then turn or rotate the valve the other way and go test the water to see if you can adjust the temperature now.....if not, then replace your hardware.......in the mean time, you could turn the temperature down on the water heater so that you won't scald yourself in the shower til you have time to fix it properly.

I have an emco equitemp shower valve and have recently installed a tankless water heater. I need to adjust the valve so that the hot water temperature is higher. The water heater heats at 140 degrees but...

You should have the ability to reach 185 degrees. As long as the Heater is capable of reaching 185 you should be able to process that extreme without a problem. The only reason you cannot get above 140 is because the valve is limited or defective. You may have to replace the shower valve to accommodate 185.

You didn't mention what model you have. Here is a link to their web site. You can download a manual, that has detailed instructions on how to adjust. You should have a thermometer to measure water temperature to adjust properly. Go to : http://www.groheamerica.com You can identify your model, and then download the technical product information. Also check the temperature of other faucets in the house to be sure they are getting hot enough, and not a water heater temp problem.

I have A whirlpool hot water heater I can get hot water downstairs but not upstairs through the shower and tub

Upstairs do you get hot water to your sink faucet. If you do this indicates to me that the temperature valve in your Shower & Tub may need to be adjusted.

For single handle please remove handle to gain access to dial that adjusts hot & cold water mixing.
Remember where it is and take it out and replace about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn counter clockwise and reinstall and try.

It is a plastic adjustment dial that will slide off after the handle is removed.

Trace lines if possible to assure correct pipe's are connected to valve.

Not enough hot water, has to do with a shower valve

Hello, first if any water supply hot or cold is turned off, you will experience trickling as you mention. You must have both cold and hot in order to adjust the temperature on your valve. if you had a plumber intall this unit you should ask him to adjust it. Otherwise here is how:
Rotate the handle counterclockwise to stop and let water run till cold water is purged, check
temperature. Rotate handle to off, remove handle parts (see Disassembly in your manual) and temperature limit stop, rotate clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase maximum hot water temperature, reinstall temperature limit stop and handle (TIP: Do not screw handle in until desired maximum temperature is achieved) Repeat steps until desired maximum
temperature is achieved
