Other RCA VCRs have had problems with flashing timer lights. Those could be fixed with service from an electronics repair person if it doesn't stop even after being unplugged for a while. But, try leaving it unplugged for a few hours. If that doesn't work, the electronics repair might be the way to go, or get a different VCR on eBay or from the local thrift store for pretty cheap.
Indoor unit indicator
RUN lamp = 6 time flash
TIMER lamp = Comes on
Outdoor unit indicator (LED5) = Stays off
Description of trouble = Indoor fan motor error (2)
Cause = Defective fan motor, Connector poor connection
Conditions of flashing = When air conditioner is operating and indoor fan motor is turned ON, indoor fan motor speed of 400 rpm or under continued for more than 30 seconds. (Air conditioner stops.)
I managed to find a PDF manual for your VCR Combo, However i couldnt find anything to indicate a reason for the Cst in light flashing. I did find however find that the TIMER REC Light flashes if T-SET is pressed for a timer recording, but there is no tape in the DVD/VCR. It also flashes when all timer recordings or One-Touch Recordings are finished. So possibly this could be the light you see flashing.
Had the same problem on my JVC vcr/dvd combo unit.
You need to turn off the timer function. I did this by making sure my remote was in the "VHS" mode...turn the swith from TV to the right (found on the remote in the upper left corner...an then hit the "vcr" button. Then point the remote at the VCR unit and hit the No. 4 button (timer turns off). Your unit should not have the red timer displayed and you should be able to play your tapes okay.
It sounds like your approaching the end of your lamp's life. Most projection televisions have internal lamp timers. These lamp timers usually give you time to buy a new bulb before it needs to be replaced.
Hi
I'm not familiar with your model in particular, but normally there will be a timer button on the remote that you must press, or you must turn the vcr off after programming it for the timer recordings to be made. There should be a timer indicator on the front, either a symbol or a red light depending on the age of the vcr.
If you program it, then press the timer button on the remote, the timer light should be on and the vcr will shut itself off, if it is the other type, then the timer indicator should stay lit when you shut off the machine. If that light is on, then your timer recordings should work.
Hope this helps, good luck!
