These windows are usually associated with
different forms of advertisements and at times can include viruses that can
infect the computer.

Pop-up blocker allows the user to block these items and

Open Internet Explorer.
Click "Tools" from the menu bar. Tools can be

The computer will now block all pop-ups from websites.
If downloading items from the Web, the computer will ask
whether you would like to allow these items to be opened.
IE: 8 right click in the top toolbar select the
command bar this will add it to the toolbar then on the far right hand
side select the tools then from the drop down list pop up blocker make sure its
turned on and settings

a Paid or Free Pop Up Blocker
If you've tried the above steps, and
you're still having issues, then you should consider downloading a pop up
blocker program.
Two reliable free pop up blockers include
the Google toolbar and MSN toolbar. Another popular paid pop up blocker is at

For everyday pop up blockers, the above
methods should work. However, if
you've tried all of these suggestions and you're still having problems with
persistent pop-ups, then it's likely that you have been infected with spyware.
