This was also a problem with one of our computers. The same case until we changed the power supply. The power supply installed was factory defect.

Maybe something is wrong with your power supply. If power supply get old, it will restart the computer by itself. Try to borrow a friend's power supply and test it out.

I have checked the specs of your PC notebook, I can see that you can upgrade the OS of your notebook to windows 7, because your PC passed the requirements for the windows 7 OS.

Hi, I have a little problem with the RAM of my Acer Aspire 8600. Probably I am using a wrong RAM module for the upgrade, but I would like to have your opinion. I have instantiated a new module of RAM...

Probably you have used the wrong RAM module in the upgrading. You must be using 1 GB PC2100 RAM instead of PC3200 in order to have a complete 1 GB of RAM.

Do this model supporsts win xp service pack 2

Hi.

This unit has a Pentium 4 2GHz single core processor, and does support Windows XP SP2.

The standard memory installed on this unit was 256KB RAM, in order to run XP efficently you will need to upgrade the RAM. I suggest upgrading RAM to the maximum amount allowed of 2 GB RAM.

To upgrade the RAM to 2 GB you will need 2 modules of 1GB PC2100 184 pin DIMM ECC each.

Micron 1GB DDR RAM PC-2100 ECC

I have a ACEer 5315 model no ICL50 running Windows Vista. To say Vista is **** is an understatement. I want to switch to Windows 7 but guess I will need a lot more RAM for this. Can I upgrade Ram on this...

Hi,
I recommend that you switch to Windows 7 without upgrading your RAM. Windows 7 is a lot faster, better and uses less RAM than Vista. Recommended RAM for running Windows 7 is 1GB but I have installed them on a Centrino 1.5GHz with 768Mb of RAM and they run perfectly.
So make the upgrade to Windows 7 anyway and if you feel that you need more power then you can get more RAM.
Also, download Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your pc is compatible. Download upgrade advisor here.

Acer Aspire 5315

I have a friend who has an Acer Aspire 5315 running Vista and it was pretty slow right out of the box with 1gb of ram. I upgraded his Ram to 2gb and it ran moderatly faster and smoother. Vista is a demanding OS because it's so graphical in nature. Windows Vista requires more ram then XP plus a better CPU to run smoothly. His had a 1.6ghz Celeron which is not that great of a CPU to begin with but uping your ram will usually up your performance a few degrees. Be careful with cheap ram it can run hot and unstable. Make sure go with a name brand PNY, Corsair, Kingston, etc. Don't just buy House ram (generic) because it's cheap. It's not worth wasting your money on junk ram.

Hope this helps. M~
