Question about Canon PowerShot SD110 / IXUS IIs Digital Camera

Camera is taking Blurry pink pictures

When I turn it on and the lens opens, my pictures are a pink blur.
Sometimes it's fine but it's getting worse. Will a new battery fix the problem or is the camera shot? Also, could the memory card have anything to do with it?
It takes GREAT pictures when it's working right.

My camera is doing the same thing:taking pink-tinged pix or a complete pink blur. It will ficker back and forth between a good image and the pink blur. It's always been reliable until a month ago. When it holds a good image, it takes great pix. But now I can't depend on the image. I have two batteries for quick change. It has the same problem regardless of which battery is in use, so I don't think that's the issue.

Defective ccd imager!! company will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released unit has a factory defect ccd imager. the company recalled those units and replaced with a stronger version of ccd imager ( they are still doing it). check it out.

The picture turned out pink & blurred. i asked 2 technicians with different analysis. one is lcd problem & the other one is lens. its no longer covered with warranty

I would suggest you check out the image on a computer. Transfer it over and if its pink it could be the lens if not its the LCD. The other thing is if it is only one picture it could have just been the lighting. I know from experience lighting can do some crazy things.

When opening the shutter and looking on the screen the subject picture is blurred as when taking picture, the result is also very blurred.

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. Blurred picture. Is worse when zoomed. Is not

Has the camera been dropped or hit on something? If so the lens could be out of line. Take it to a repair shop or start searching for a new one. I had a older model Kodak that a kid knocked it off a table and it never was the same. Forget trying to realign yourself, it takes an expert for that.
