That sounds like a drum issue. Try replacing the toner or have you done that already? Give me a call if you ever need to replace the toner. I can beat out Staples and Office Depot. Damien @ iPrint Technologies - 818.700.7419 Dir.

SOURCE: laser printer not printing properly

Since you have changed the tone cartridges ...and it still does the same....

the next step is to check the transfer belt..transfer roller(this when hit by laser light stores the image and runs on the powder ink..the parts that have been created by the laser on the transfer belt is where the powder sticks)......remover the transfer belt roller and check to verify that its not worn out..its in the form of plastic paper more like Teflon.....view to see that it doesn't have severe markings...if its marked you will need to change the transfer belt to

If this doesn't fix the problem than you will need to change the laser scanner unit....

so basically its your cartridge...that provides color powder dust for image....
transferbelt...that transfers the image to the paper with the image being created by the laser scanner and the cartridge providing color

the last process is fussing ...heat is used to make stick the powder to the paper..and is done by the fusser unit...

as for your case the image is not either created by the scanner itself in the right manner..or the image is not properly created coz the transfer belt is worn out....

I suggest you replace the transfer belt next.

cheers!

Try shacking the toner or tap it on it side. Toner might not be even at cartridge. Then you can do a full calibration( You can find it at print quality), do this twice. First full calibration checks for errors, second calibration fix it. Also check if fuser isn't dirty at right side.

My hp laser jet printer p1606dn is printing vertical lines n the left of the document and its missing all the left side of the doc

From this limited information, I suggest you remove the toner cartridge and tip it left to right several times to re-disperse toner. Put it back in place and try printing again. If the doesn't work, your toner is likely low or empty.

How do I load ink and toner in hp laserjet 1100

By load the toner, if you mean inserting the toner cartridge. Then i will give you instructions. In laser toner printer, there is toner cartridge, and not ink jet cartridge. In laser toner cartridges, there is a black color toner power and it does have any liquid ink, which ink jet cartridges have.To remove the laser toner cartridge from hp laser jet 1100 printer, its simple. The front door open and old toner cartridge comes out.Just pull the front door towards you. While inserting cartridge. If you have problem, then take note that, sticker side of the cartridge is towards you.On the cartridge there is a rectangle flap, which you hold in your hand. This is meant for holding the cartridge, while removing and inserting cartridge. The stick side will be in your side. There is a green color drum, the drum side will be on opposite site.-------------- Still any problem.Keep updated. But i think that will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How do one correct print quality in hp color laser jet 2600n

Hi Good day!!
Follow this method hope it helps you!!

During the printing process, paper, toner and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer. Over time, this buildup can cause print-quality problems such as toner specks or smearing. This printer has a cleaning mode that can correct and prevent these types of problems.
This printer has two processes for generating cleaning pages: one is automatically generated and one is manually generated. When a new black print cartridge is installed, a cleaning page will be automatically generated prior to calibration.
Clean the fuser using HP Toolbox
NOTE: Use the following procedure to clean the fuser using the HP Toolbox. To clean the engine when the computer is running an operating system that does not support HP Toolbox, see the late-breaking Readme on the root of the CD-ROM, or visit http://www.hp.com/support/clj2600n .

1 Make sure that the printer is turned on and in the Ready state.

2 Open the HP Toolbox using one of the following methods.
*
On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Toolbox icon.
* On the Windows Start menu, click Programs (All Programs in Windows XP), click HP , click HP Color LaserJet 2600n, and then click HP Color LaserJet 2600n Toolbox .

3 Click the Troubleshooting tab, and then Troubleshooting Tools .
4 Click the Print button next to step 1, "Click the "Print" button to print out the Cleaning Page."

5 Remove the Cleaning Page from the output bin, and load it printed side down in Tray 1.

6 Click the Clean button to complete the cleaning process. Press the GO button on the printer control panel. The Cleaning page will print, with a second page adhered to the first page. This is normal behavior during the cleaning process.

Cleaning spilled toner
Defective print cartridges can develop leaks. Also, after a paper jam has occurred, some toner might remain on the rollers and guides inside the printer. The pages that print immediately after the jam can pick up this toner.
CAUTION: When cleaning the printer, do not touch the ETB with a damp cloth or with fingers.
Cleaning the paper path
The device features a special cleaning mode to clean the paper path.
NOTE: If there is access to HP Toolbox, HP recommends cleaning the paper path by using HP Toolbox.
Clean the paper path

1. Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select Service, and then press (SELECT).

2. Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select Cleaning Mode, and then press (SELECT).
A page feeds through the printer slowly. Discard the page when the process is completed.

3. Load plain letter or A4 paper when prompted.

4. Press (SELECT) again to confirm and begin the cleaning process.
A page feeds through the printer slowly. Discard the page when the process is completed.

Calibrating the printer
Calibrations are performed at regular intervals. For best print quality, a calibration can be performed from the control panel using the following steps:
NOTE: This will calibrate the color and clean the black electrostatic transfer belt (ETB).

1 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select System setup and then press (SELECT).

2 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select Print quality and then press (SELECT). Calibrate color will display on the control panel.

Press (SELECT).

3 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select Calibrate now and then press (SELECT).

4 Press (SELECT) to start the calibration.

Hp 1505n laser jet, Makes clicking noises when printing. Slight smear on left side of page.

There are two things that can cause print quality problems and a noises. One being the toner cartridge and the other being the fuser assembly. If you have already replaced the toner cartridge and it did not take care of the problem then the fuser may need to be replaced. You can take it to a local printer repair shop to get it fixed.

HP laserjet 5000gn when i print, output smears ink on 2 sides. not a toner issue cause changed toners already. someone says printer is telling me something and might be a warning of

If by smearing you mean the print is also rubbing off? Then you definately have a fuser unit issue. The fusing unit is the assembly that heats up and "fuses" the toner onto the page. When these start to go bad, usually on one edge or the other the print will smear/double image/wipe off of the effected area. One test you can do to verify a fuser problem is to print a page and then when the page is about half way thru the prcess, shut the printer off. Open the top and remove the toner cartridge, pull out the page and see if the lower part is not smeared. Basically what your checking is to see if the print is ok BEFORE it goes thru the fuser. Based on your description I would suspect your fuser is going bad.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

My printer worked very well until I changed the toner. I see dust around the back toner. I brought the generic toner. The store manager said that was the problem. Then I brought new HP toner. It is the...

Smeared output can result when you refeed a printed page into the printer to make a double-sided page. This happens because the rubber rollers that grip the paper to pull it into the printer can pick up toner from the first side’s printing and smear it. So before replacing parts, this is an easy thing to check. Printing multiple pages consecutively will make the pages print progressively cleaner or you can clean the rollers with rubbing alcohol.

Smeared toner also happens because the nonstick coating on the fusing roller is scratched or has baked-on debris. This can happen if the printer is in a dirty environment especially. If you are comfortable removing the fuser, you can try to clean it with a soft cloth and alcohol, but make sure you let it cool down first!

Finally, if this does not resolve your issue then make sure the fuser is heating; toner that is not heated properly will fall from the page and smear. If the thermostat is bad or the fuser not working properly, you will most likely need to replace the entire fuser assembly. This will be pretty expensive to repair so hopefully it's one of those other issues.

MY HP LASER JET 2420DN IS gHOSTING DOWN THE LEFT SIDE

The ghosting is most likely the toner or the fuser

This is the test to determine toner or fuser issue.
Print a test page
When you hear the paper feed into the machine open the top or front to stop the machine
Remove the toner cart.
You should be able to see the page with printing on it. (This is before the page hits the fuser)
If you can see the defect on the page the problem is most likely the toner cartridge but NOT the fuser.
If the page is clean the problem is most likely the fuser.
Hope this helps
