Question about Washing Machines
This washer is brand new. I got one load out of it, now it will not fill. It will drain and spin. It has a water level sensor, so will not agitate because it will not fill. I have one cold water hose attached, the hot water side is plugged with a pipe cap. I only wash in cold water.
You may need to use a Y adapter to feed pressure to both inlets to get the machine to fill. If it senses no pressure on one inlet it wont fill. You can run both inlets to on source. Since you did not post the model number it is hard to say. Some machines also test the water temp to see if it is warm enough to start or it needs to preheat.

The most likely cause of your problem is the lid switch.

SOURCE: GE washer won't fill with cold water
Cold water pipe had become frozen. FYI this model of washer has a nice feature whereas you can test each component i.e. valves, by setting the timer and reading the LED's on the front panel. Instructions are in the schematic.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.
i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...

Hello Greg Aguilar - Are the house valves turn on fully? Washer not filling with water can be caused by many reasons. Most common cause is a faulty switch that doesn't allow the value inside turn or a kinked fill hose. Other possibilities can be water valve faults, faulty control board, pressure switch or wiring failure. Since you have just recently purchased the washer, I strongly suggestion contacting the manufacturer for a listing of certified techs that can move forward accurately.
