SOURCE: How do I remove the cover to replace the PTC relay

Those covers are hard to come off without breaking them. Just gently pry them off. If they break, it's ok because it's not that important. Good luck.

Every thing runs but the compressor wont fire i think its the compressor start up capacitor how do i test the capacitor

first discharge the capacitor for safetys sake, then touch the meter leads of a multi-meter set to RX100 to the caps leads if the needle stays on 0 the cap is shorted(but that would trip the wall breaker),if it doesnt move at all its open,if it goes to 0 and slowly climbs back towards infinity its good,i believe you will find the ptc overload relay on the compressor is defective, its in combination with the capacitor, the cap is only on there to take the power spikes off the relay contacts during start-up,the ptc overload relay is what aids in compressor start-up/run/and overload protection if compressor wont fire, change them both and it will run

this unit has 2 evaporators one for freezer and one for the refrigerator side,if both are not working(cooling) then its your ptc overload relay on the compressor thats defective, unplug the old ptc off the compressor and get an exact replacement and this will take care of your non cooling problem

Refrigerator not working

replace the ptc overload contactor relay located on the compressor,it merely unplugs off the compressor and get an exact replacement from most any appliance parts outlet, this component serves to protect and aid in compressor starting and or overloads, this will solve your non-functional units non operation

Does not cool

one of 2 issues, first possibly the evaporator coil in the freezer is iced over and not allowing cold air into the freezer and refrigerator, then check the defrost heater and thermostats on the evaporator coil/secondly,it could be a bad ptc overload relay on the compressor in the rear lower area not letting the compressor start, when you check this the condenser fan near this may be running, don't let this fool you it will normally run even if the compressor is not,a hint,if the compressor is overly warm to the touch this is a sign of a bad ptc overload relay remove this component and shake it by hand,if you hear it rattling its another sign its bad
