My psp is broken. the arrow keys dont work. when i press down it goes to the next icon and then imediately shoots back up to the top of the list. the left and right keys dont work at all. if i let it sit, they work for about 30 seconds before they do it again. what does this mean and what should i do? should i open it up and do something or is it beyond repair? also my psp has been dropped many times. most of the time it makes it shut off and its in working condition. i dont know if that has anything to do with it, and also i dropped it the day befre this started but nothing happened
actually what happened to my psp it always goes to the network. the up and down button don't work. I thought that the left button has the problem... So I left it in my storage for 1 1/2 days and it is fixed again.... I don't know how that happened...actually what happened to my psp it always goes to the network. the up and down button don't work. Hold the CTRL key, ALT key, and press the up arrow key on your keyboard simultaneously. This might resolve the problem right away. If it doesn't, continue to the next steps. Try to navigate to the side of your taskbar opposite from your Start menu. Click the small arrow leading away from the small panel with the clock. Look for an ATI, nVidia or other icon related to your graphics card. Look at the box your graphics card came in if you cannot identify the icon. The box usually has the image somewhere in the design. If you do not identify the icon at all, look through your operator's manual for your graphics card to see what the tray icon looks like. Right-click the graphics tray icon and click "Rotation Settings." Turn the monitor's display around as you wish. Choose zero degrees as your angle if your monitor is upright. or
Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP Arrow Key, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different Arrow Key.
If that does not work: Right-click on empty Desktop > Graphics Options > Rotation. or Press "Ctrl-Alt" and an arrow key (left, right, up or down) to rotate the screen. Continue pressing the hotkeys and arrow keys until you reach the desired rotation. This works with most video drivers on Windows XP. If it doesn't, Click "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Display," then the "Settings" tab. Click the "Advanced" button. Check for an "Orientation" option. Select your desired orientation. Hope this helps.
Turn on your PSP by moving the power button on the right-hand side of the console in an upward motion. Under the console's main screen, go to the "Settings" icon. This is the first icon listed and is farthest to the left. From the drop-down menu, choose the "Network Settings" option at the end of the list.
2
Select "Infrastructure Mode" and press the "X" button. Select the "New Connection" option to add a wireless connection to your PSP. Choose the "Scan" option to instruct your PSP to search for accessible wireless connections in your area.
3
Select a wireless connection from the connections your PSP is able to access. Confirm the name of the network and press the right arrow button. Confirm the security encryption settings for the connection. In most cases, the PSP will determine the network's encryption automatically. Enter the wireless connection's password if the network is secured.
4
Name your new wireless connection so that you will be able to identify it in the future and save your settings. Run a test connection to ensure you are able to connect to the Internet through the wireless network.
5
Press your PSP's "Home" button at the bottom left-hand side of the console. Move your cursor to the right to find the "Network" icon. Select the "Internet Browser" option from the drop-down menu. Press the up directional arrow and press "X" to enter a web address into the browser. Once you enter a web address, your PSP will automatically connect to the Internet using the WiFi connection you set up previously.

1. Make sure the camera is in shooting mode (silhouette of camera)
2. Press Func/Set button
3. Scroll down to Drive Mode icon (usually single square)
4. Use left/right arrow to select 2-sec or 10-sec delay (clock with 2 or 10 next to it)
5. Press Func/Set button
Now whenever you press the shutter button, the camera will delay 2 or 10 seconds before snapping the picture. Remember to set back to single shot (single square) or continuous shooting (three overlaid squares) mode when done.
I assume there is no second mouse on the system and you are using keyboard commands. Try the following in the device manager..
Press Control-Esc or press the Windows key on your keyboard to bring up the Start menu.
Using the up arrow key, highlight "Settings."
Right arrow key to "Control Panel" and press the enter key.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the System icon and press the Enter key.
Use the right arrow key to select the Device Manager tab. (For Windows
XP/2000 , use the right arrow key select the "Hardware" tab. Now
use the tab key, select the "Device Manager" button and press the enter
key.)
Use the "Tab" key to select the "Computer Icon" at the top of the list of device icons.
Use the down arrow key to highlight the Mouse icon.
Use the right arrow key to open the mouse icon and verify there is
a mouse icon that states, "HID-compliant mouse," and another entry that
states the name of your USB device.
If there are any errors reported on these icons by exclamation
points or red X's, highlight these icons using the arrow keys and "Tab"
to the "Remove" button and press the enter key. (For Windows XP/2000 ,
highlight these icons using the arrow keys and then press Alt-A keys.
From the "Action" menu, highlight "Uninstall" and press the enter key.)
When the "Confirm Device Removal" box appears, press the enter key.
Once these icons have been removed, use the Tab key to get to the
"Refresh" button and allow Windows to re-detect the pointing device.
(If u r using Windows XP/2000 , press the Alt-A keys. From the "Action" menu,
select "Scan for hardware changes" and press the Enter key.)
Use the arrow keys to open the Mouse icon again and verify that there are no errors reported.
Power down the computer system and restart Windows.
It sounds like the pc board that the volume buttons are in is damaged or coming loose. Aany repair shop that services PSP's should be able to fix that.
