Converting file to video format ( i.e. SMV format)

Get another video converter and convert it to Windows Media Video (WMV) then convert it to SMV videos from there. IT works 100% Guaranteed.

Rename the wmv video file you are converting.
Say the file name is "football", rename it as "football.wmv"
Then use the Phillips converter and convert it to SMV.
Worked for me.

Whatever the original file format is, convert it to .wmv format with any of the many converters available on the internet. I used Prism Video Converter. Once in wmv format i then used smv Converter from http://www.soft29.com/freeware/smv_converter.htm. Once converted to smv format I just dropped the file onto the mp3 player and hey presto it worked. I have a SA3245 Philips player. Now I have resolved this problem I quite like the player.

Hey! Wow you posted this over a year ago? I'm sure you might have solved the problem by now but in case that you or someone reading this hasnt done so yet im going to post this here. What you need to do is download the software from the disc that it came with but in case that doesnt work download it directly from their website.

I know about your player, am also having that,
before you convert you have to first convert that player to ".wmv" format.
coz philips media converter only converts video format .wmv to .smv

Try to upgarde to windows media player 11 because it is having the requisite codecs for vedio compression and then try convert it. I was facing the same problem but now it is running gr8
