Unable to ftp from outside of the network. Went through all of the port forwarding setup. Still can't connect.

You need to setup a Port Forwarding / Virtual Server (FTP) in the router to forward port 21 (FTP default) to your FTP server's FTP port. You may need to setup a reserved IP address for the FTP server first in the router before the option comes up.

Dreamweaver FTP Error

i would suggest that your server ip address has possibly changed. I would contact the people who support your server and ask them if anything has changed.

the fact that your website is up and running does not mean that the FTP should work. Very often your FTP server is physically separate to your web server

please rate this answer if it has been useful

Can't Transfer image to FTP site

"STOR" is FTP lingo for storing (putting/uploading) the file onto the server. I'm presuming you have entered the appropriate FTP IP address, login and password and the FTP server is setup properly.

Presuming the FTP server is set up correctly, connect your computer to the same cable the Sony IP camera is connected to and use an FTP client from your computer to confirm you can successfully upload files.

If you do not have an FTP client, you can download a free one at:

FTP problems.

There are 2 ports used for FTP. They are 20 and 21. When you initiate a connection that occurs on port 21, but data traffic is on port 20. Your firewall sees your outside FTP server trying to 'initiate' a connection on port 20 and breaks the connection to that IP address.
What you need to do is either use 'passive' ftp or open both ports 20 and 21 for ftp traffic in the firewall.

Sonicwall Pro 300 DMZ Problem

If you're within a network and try connecting to computers on it with the WAN public IP, it simply won't work - you must use the network IP. On an external Internet connection, it should connect fine to the public IP. If you have access to an external machine (remote desktop), or if you know of an FTP proxy, you can try it that way. I also believe http://www.webftp.co.uk/ a web based FTP client would act as somewhat of a proxy, you could try that with the public IP and see how you go.

Ftp server

There should be an option in your touer for having "Static" IP address assigned. Currently, your couter is set for "Dynamic" IP's. I'm not too familiar with this router, but if you go to their support site, they should have some info on how to do this.
