What could be the issue, i have sound but not Video, was watching it and it just went black
Similar thing had happened with me. Solution: Probability: 1 Start any familiar movie on DVD/Blueray, and press pause, now go near tv and flash torch light on and off on screen. you will come to identify- 'that familiar scene' paused, of course very faint and un-lit. If you can see faint image then cause of problem is that choke coil giving power to drinking-straw like tubelight is burnt. (Do you remember 4feet fluorescent tubelight with a very heavy metal encased five inch block sitting in the middle?) that block is choke coil. LCD TVs have similar tiny slim tube rods inside with electronic choke)
Probability 2 If your tv is not coonected to local cable provider and you are watching tv via set top box and home theatre speakers(speakers connected to settopbox/DVD player but not tv) then yellow pin from settopbox/dvd going to av-in of tv is loose or broken inside. I would love to tell you much more about this if you find this advice leading somewhere.
i hold a light to the tv and can see image, i replaced the backlight board and that wasnt it
im told its the TCON bd .. im having a beotch time with this but shopjimmy has some youtube stuff on this
