My TV is a 52HMX84 which is 52 inches but shares the same features as the 62 in TV. Starting a few months ago, I notice that some visible color bands are moving slowly up the TV at all times. I have tried all types of adjustments in temperature, color, brightness etc., but I can not remove them. This problem is present whether I am using HD cable, playing DVD or playing PS3 games.
Please help!
The bands are caused by unsheilded power cables that are near the
set. sometimes your tv cable or antenae cable is near a power
source and it is picking up unsheilded EM signals. Remove all
power sources near your tv and tv cable.

I found the solution myself after posting this for a week. The interference came from the PS3. Disconnect the PS3 and the lines go away. Hook it up and the lines re-appear. It does not matter whether the PS3 is turned on or not.
Do not understand why. But will call PS3 technical support for help.
in addition to horizontal bands, there is an audible humm coming from TV, problem occurs on all 3 tvs in house, with HDMI, component & RCA hookups, problem goes away when power cord to PS3 is disconnected
