You must have put the mode dial on 'SCN' and selected an in-built effect. Set the camera to another mode (iAuto, Auto, P, S, A, M) and it should work well.

Hello, My camera had been taking photos under a file size of 1 MB, normally 800 KB. Today for some inexplicable reason (I must have done something!), the photo file size is 4MB, too large to send and use...

On your camera, look for settings. You must have set it on "Large" or "Max" picture quality. Thus making your 'normal' 800kb into a more better quality.

On your laptop/computer try to open it in a image editor and change the resolution of the picture.

I have just turned my camera on and it is showing a very distorted picture. The pictures I took previously show fine but any new display or photo are very badly distorted.

Hi,
This kind of problem occurs when ccd imager chip got bad in camera. Let me know model number of your Sony camera to provide you more info to solve its issue.
Thanks.

I need to show the date on the photo so it will appear when I copy them to CD (not printed on paper). Is this possible? Using Canon Rebel XTi. Thank you!

Hi there its depend on the camera type. I mean some time the photo identity no showing the date. For example Sony Camera showing the photo no DSC XXX01012010. Its mean its taken 01 JAN 2010. Some camera mention normal photo identity. But as per your requirement is not possible to change the camera software setting. You have to identify by Serial no. I hope i explain you the full things. If you want to know more then let me know. I try to batter explanation then, Thanks.

Macro in sony W170 digital camera

The resolution of the photo you take determines how grain shows up as you zoom into the Photo, So taking a 10 megapixel photo on optical zoom or no zoom will give you a sharper picture than when you use both the optical and digital zoom to grab your picture. The digital zoom uses the centre of your CCD picture imager rather than the whole CCD so with less elements to your picture when you take it gives you blockiness sooner when you zoom in on the image. I am guessing your friend has digital Zoom turned off in settings to prevent the Graining showing upon magnification. Good light and a steady camera will give you the best results.

Yes there is. You need to change the picture quality from being high exposure to normal exposure. This will decrease the size of the photo.

My sony cyber shot dsc-p32 camera

just change the resolution
set the camera on photo mode
then press trash button, it should display the resolutions
i recomend 1.3 megapixels for normal pictures, when you need the high resolution change it to better
also if you use the options of the photo mode you can change from fine to normal picture quality

your camera is having the problem of overexposing the picture, due to faulty apparture and / or shutter system .
