On my model #EW30EW65GS3 in the self cleaning cycle even tho I removed all the racks & the rack supports it keeps flashing remove racks

Hello. From what you're describing, there might be a problem with the rack switch. It is connected directly to the main oven display board at connector P10 for a single oven(See pic 3, left side, middle). On the double oven model, there will be a P12 connector near the same area. TURN OFF POWER TO THE OVEN BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHECK ANYTHING!! On the double oven display board, there will be a connector P10 and P12 for the upper and lower oven racks.The part number for the main oven display board is 7316516536 in case the switches are good. The rack switch part number for the upper and lower oven is 7318903403. The part number is the same for the switch in the single oven model. Note the designation on the exploded parts diagram as 14(with a circle around the part). I've included the last pic(the oven relay board) just for future information.The part number for it is 7316443919(dual oven relay board). If you are hesitant about attempting to troubleshoot the oven, definitely call for service! This can be an INVOLVED REPAIR requiring advanced troubleshooting. The connectors on the circuit board can be damaged easily as they are multi-pin devices. You will need a voltage/ohm meter with fine probe tips to perform continuity checks on the rack switch(s). I hope I helped you!

Oven element good but does not heat even though broil workes with temp sensor

Hello Billy;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

First, your broiler is not connected to your oven thermocouple (Temperature sensor). When you turn on your broiler full load amps go into the broiler element with no adjustment.

There are only three components that control your oven operation:

1.) Heater Element - Inspect your heating element for cracks, sparking or corrosion on the two contacts on the back wall.

2.) Thermocouple - This is a temperature sensor inside your oven. It is about the diameter of a coat hanger wire. Either it comes straight out of the back upper wall or is mounted on the back wall.
It is disconnected and removed from the upper back of the oven.
You should get a meter reading of 1000-1100 Ohms if the component is good.

3.) Oven Control - The control communicates with the thermocouple and increases or decreases the amps to the oven heating element. If the thermocouple is good then the oven control needs to be replaced.

If in unsure, replace them both.

Recently, I replace a digital oven control for a friend. Sears wanted $256.00 for the control. I purchased a remanufactured oven control over the internet for $30.00.

Get the oven model number off your oven. It is on a metal tag on the face of the oven after you open the door.

Go into the following website. Put in your oven model number (on the left). You will get diagrams and parts part numbers. Record these numbers for the above components. Put the part number in your computer search engine and search best price.

CAUTION: If you replace a electrical control board GROUND YOURSELF by touching something that is bare metal. Static electricity will knock out a control board.

Find that the oven is so much hotter than the temp. says

The oven temperature can be adjusted so that the dial and true temp are the closely the same. But I need the make, model number and serial number of your stove / oven to tell you how. The number are usually on the door side. J

I turn on the top oven and the grill element also comes on. I can grill ok but I cannot use the top oven for baking. Any advice please?

Hello;
My name is Peter. i am a retired field service appliance technician.

It sounds like you have a bad control. I can not be sure of this because you did not proved a model number so I can see what you have
Sometime these components are inexpensive and easily replaced.

You model number is on a metal plate on the upper face of your oven after you open the oven door.

I have Whirlpool double oven, model number gbd307pdb7, that after the self clean on the top oven quit working. The original message on the key pas was locked, then it said hot and lastly it had the error...

this most likely happened from when you self cleaned the oven,the oven gets up to 1000 degrees and can damage the electronics on the oven.i will never use this feature for this reason,i use easy off,but the f2 e1 error says it's a bad key panel or the touch pad that you push to control the oven.do you see upper and lower off?if you want to cancel the upper oven you press upper off,you can try to unplug the oven for like 10 minutes and see if it resets it or kill the power,pull the oven out enough to remove the top panel,unplug the ribbon and plug it back in and see if it resets,that code means the board can't read the touch panel,if you press the upper off and it clears and then returns the touch pad is bad part WP8300440 go here go to control panel

Elements in convection oven won't heat

DO you have a model number for that. I'm almost sure it's a thermal fuse in the back of the oven. Usually they go out during or after cleaning but that would shut down both elements. If you have the model (usually by the inside door look all over and up in the cavity) Then if you go to this link

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action?intcmp=xsite_Sears

It will show you a breakdown of the oven and where it is. If you give me the model I'll show you what I'm talking about. Good luck.

P.S. if it the fuse it's a cheap fix, little hard to get in back of the oven but cheap!

Heating element on upper oven of a wall Thermador Oven

The control switch may be bad on it. If there are 2 elements on the top, they both are not bad at the same time.Check to see if the wires have not burned off the control switch first. Check to see if your breakers are O.K. Turn them both(maybe 3) off and then reset.
