try disconnecting thermistor and let run if ok replace it if no possible low on freon

Sounds like the evaporator coil inside the freezer is icing up and restricting air flow to the fridge. This could be a bad defrost timer or bad defrost heating coil.

Anthony, the key question is: "What is the freezer portion doing"? IF the freezer is cold and the 'fridge is warm, it's an airflow issue between the two. If BOTH are just shutting down, I'd look at the fan motor underneath, clean the dust-bunnies and if the fan is shutting off, replace it. Additionally, IF shoved back into an alcove where it can't breathe, remove things stored on top and pull it out from the wall a couple of inches!

the is an electronic timer for defrost mode on all frost free frig/ freezers it goes bad to find that in your frig call the manufacturer or a good repair man

Have you tried it after letting it defrost for a couple of days . It sounds like it was just frozen up. If the freezer is still working then it is the defrost drain is frozen up.

Buzzing is usually a fan, like one in the freezer, or back bottom - for cooling the freon. The compressor over-heat usually will make a single click (off) and a few minutes later a click (on). If the fan in the freezer stops working well, the freezer will frost up and the fridge section will not be cold enough.

Do you have ice build up on the back wall in the freezer? If so you have whats called a defrost problem. (can be timmer, adc, heating element or thermostat)... All cold air in you fridge side come from the freezer, therefore if you have ice build up behind back wall in freezer it is blocking air flow....
