The Cannon I sensys mf4550d printer prints the full page but indicates a paper jam after printing 1 page. It clears after opening the bottom cartridge flap you can hear the reset click and it will print another page
It sounds like the exit sensor is sticking, so the printer doesn't know the paper has exited & throws a jam.
Testimonial: "is the exit sensor resettable or does it require replacing. where is it located"
it sounds quite a logical problem thanks
This sensor is located in the centre of the machine, around the area the print head moves accross, it is not easy to see, it will look like a small black leaver.
ignore the above. The exit sensor on this model is located in the fuser unit, the hot section at the rear of the machine, open the rear cover you should just be able to see it, check it is free moving

Were you doing duplex? take out the duplex and look in side and UNDER it

1. Make sure that you removed the entire paper jam and that nothing is caught in the fuser assembly (the part that gets hot so make sure it is cooled off first, also do not use anything to dig at anything that might be there try carefully using a tweezer or needle nose pliers to pull it out.
2.Remove the toner cartridge and with a dry cloth or a pencil eraser clean off the contacts on your left when facing the inside of printer and the roller on the bottom can be wiped off to remove excess toner.
3.With toner cart. still out use a dry cloth to wipe the laser print head area located directly above the roller on the bottom of the printer be careful as the metal edges are sharp.
4.If there is a build-up of toner at the entrance of the fuser try gently removing it with a flat blade screwdriver with care.
5.If this doesn't help it may be necessary to replace the toner cartridge itself.
Best Luck

SOURCE: HP 4200 printer paper jam. No paper is jammed
check this out....when the printer reports the jam, open the paper tray very carefully and slowly.
Has the paper moved at all forward? Has it moved like 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch out of the tray?
If so, you probabaly need a torque limiter, no tools, $10 or so and a very very easy fix.
POBCM is very correct when he points out that the block/stop in the back of the tray moves when the tray is closed with too much force and this is the #1 cause most of the time.
You may see a "41.3" code displayed if the block is not up to the back of the paper and the paper is not all the way forward in the trays, and under the two metal clips at the front of the tray.
