I haven't used my cassette deck in a couple years, but my girlfriend's Mom asked me to transfer a tape to CD for her. Upon powering up, the unit made a low humming noise, but I didn't think too much of it. I opened the door, put the cassette in, and it wouldn't play. I pressed play a few times, pressed fast forward - no movement. I then tried to eject the tape figuring I'd find a different deck to record from and it wouldn't eject. Upon removing the case, the front, and the cassette lid, I noticed that the roller and heads all seem to be stuck in the play position. So, I can't even remove the cassette holder to get the tape out. I'd like to eventually fix the unit, but for right now I'd just like the tape so I can finish the project. How can I release the roller, etc?
Thanks,
Steve
Rotate loading gear with your finger until mechanism released and set on stop position. press eject button and take out tape.
