I just recently purchased a new HP pavilion dv2500 centrino with the new Vista operating system. I managed to install Office without any problems, but when I tried getting my internet setup with the disc that my ISP gave me, I get a message saying "To set up BigPond Broadband ADSL, you need to be logged on as an Administrator of this computer. Please log out and log back in an as administrator." So the frustrating part is that my account is an administrator account, has been since initial setup. I've even created a second administrator account and tried the internet setup with that account, but with no luck. Please help! I'm really starting to get frustrated with this.

To change the operating systems say from Windows XP to Windows Vista or Windows 7 you need to purchase Windows upgrade disk or a full version of the Windows installation disk. You boot up with this Windows installation CD to install the new operating system and follow the screen instructions.
You can start it in safe mode pressing the F8 key...it change between brands but must out there use f8... when you start in "safe mode" in the log in screen you will find your user name and the administrator one...normally the administrator don't have password, so you can log into it and there you have the permission to delete other users passwords... If you don't found that option, there is an other option but you need to download it and burn it in a cd... Is called ERD Commander here is the link for it: http://rapidshare.com/files/113560492/ERD.Commander.2008.CrOwN.rar... the password for decompress it is:( munda
) when you have burned it, insert it in you cd drive> go to your computer bios>select boot priority>change it for boot from cd first...once you have done that press f10 and select the option yes to save your settings and restart your pc....then your computer will start with a wizard looking like windows xp...complete all the things that it request...when finally boots up>go to start menua and select system tools>locksmith and delete all the passwords that you want...that's it! restart without the cd in the drive and log in! "Hope it works for you"
I beleive you are trying to install the software from the installation CD. I assume that you are using the Vista operating system. So, I recommend you to download the HP Software from the web site and then check with the result.
Ensure that the drivers are the ones for Vista. If drivers on disk are not the ones for Vista, download from here HP PSC 2400 Photosmart All-in-One Printer series - Download... Additionally, Vista has what is called User account conrol (UAC) interface. This will start the installation program without administrator privileges.
Locate the setup file on the disk, click right mouse button on file, and from the drop down menu chose "Run as Administrator"
