SOURCE: Canon MF4370dn printer network connection problem

Hi,
I had the same problem. I entered the info manually and it works. You could follow the instructions on how to do it manually in the e-manual (on the CD).
To get the IP, subnet mask, and default gateway: open a command prompt from windows. At the command prompt, type "ipconfig" without the quotes. Write down the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
For the IP, for example, if what you have from the step above is 192.168.0.100, add 10 (so that you wont have repeated IPs by auto DHCP from the router. I am assuming you have no more than 5 machines on your network.) to the last number to have 192.168.0.110 to enter manually into the printer. Use the same subnet mask and default gateway.
Hope it helps.
Linh.

SOURCE: Have Vista on notebook. I have a Canon mp600

Here is a link to the support page for your printer. I read through the documentation for the MP600 and did not find anything saying you could print through the network. What I mean is there is not a ethernet port or a wireless interface to connect your printer to your network. There is a wireless feature where you can beam photos from your phone. I think you may be confusing this with being able to print from your computer wirelessley.

SOURCE: canon bjc 50 printer

Purchase a PCMCIA parallel port adapter. the USB to parallel adapters are a pain to set up and are flakey at best. The PC card adapter provides a native parallel port to laptops without one, and works perfectly in ALL cases, even with the scanner cartridge. In Vista, the printer may then be manually installed from its list of printers, and set to use the new LPT port.

SOURCE: I have the same Error Number 300 with my Canon

Hi Daniel, I just had a quick look and other people here have posted problems regarding error code 300 on the MX850. Take a look here when you get a minute to see if any of the solutions posted help you out at all. It's a long shot as this link is for Apple users but it might point you in a direction you hadn't yet tried. All the best.

Connect canon pixma printer to zyxel router

If the printer has wireless capability built in , no cables are necessary. Install the printer driver in the mac as a wireless connection. Connecting a printer to the router is pointless, unless you want to install the printer as a network printer, which would disable wireless.

My DHCP is not assigning a dynamic address to one of my seven wired devices. I've had to switch over to a stati

On the second router just plug a port cable in from your main routers port into the wan port and then be sure to change the second routers gateway and IP address to a different number. Say that your main router IP is 198.18.1.1 and for your second router IP you could use 10.10.10.1 or what ever combo you want and then you should be able to use both routers together. Is this what you are trying to do?
Linksys routers as well as all routers with DHCP enabled should be able to handle up to 255 separate IP address's for a LAN network. Is the firmware of the Linksys the latest? If not, down load the latest firmware and flash the router to update it. Or, check out third party firmwares like Tomato to flash that tired Linksys and turn it into a real router.

USB port on Actiontec for shared printer?

There is supposedly a firmware upgrade available that extends the functions of the usb port so the short answer is "maybe"

My best suggestion is to check out the actiontek web site. Also you should try access the setting page (http://192.168.1.1) and see what options are available within the router itself for USB

http://support.actiontec.com/doc_files/MI424WR_Rev._ACD_User_Manual_4.0.16.1.56.0.10.11.3_v6.pdf

Using Linksys WRT54G as router connected to ActionTec with FIOS

You must keep everything on the same subnet. Only allow the router to be DHCP and keep everything on 192.168.1.x subnet. You are going to have alot of problems talking across subnets

Router MI424WR-D

Hi Steven,

You will not be able to setup this printer wirelessly to your router as it is because the printer has no networking capabilities(ethernet or wi-fi). If you want to share the printer throughout the network you need a wireless/wired print server or just enable file and printer sharing on the computer where the lexmark printer is connected the only downside with the second setup is the computer where the printer is connected must stay powered on all the time in order for the rest of the computers ion your network to print compared to the 1st setup with the a print server which is stand alone.

Wireless printing

  • I presume that the printer is not directly connected to the PC. Now if the Printer is connected to the USB port on the router, you have to check if the router detects it and the printer server is online. Also since u changed the router, you will have to change the settings in your PC to reflect the IP address of the printer server (the router.)
  • If the MP830 is connected wirelessly to the router, make sure that the IP address of the printer is in the same subnet as your laptop. (Check the configuration settings, they can be configured using a browser by pointing it to the IP address of your printer)
