Located in the back of the refrigerator is a plastic tank. This tank is the "Refrigerator water tank assembly". Water is stored in this tank and is cooled from the cool air of the refrigerator. It is located on the back wall. There may have been air prohibiting the filling until you cycled the dispenser allowing for the air to pass and the tank to fill.

It will take several hours for the water to cool.'

If the tank is in place (I'm very sure it is) the water must cool if the refrigerator is cool.

If it is not a cracked tank then it can only be the tank seal which is in the housing where the neck of the tank locates. It's not really a very common problem though.

Turn the water off, find the leak and the model number of your refrigerator. Use the model number to search for a replacement water tank or water coil depending on what your model uses. If the water control valve does not leak you can turn the water back on until the water tank is replaced if the wires going to the water dispenser are disconnected. Just prepare for some water to spill once you begin removal of the water tank. This will allow ice to be made without causing water to pour out onto your floor while you wait for parts. It is really important to have the model number because without it the parts department will not be able to find one without it and internet parts view is not possible without the model number found around the fresh food section door frame. Have you located where the leak is? Is it something other that the water tank causing the leaking water?

1) Electric tank-type water heater: replace thermostats and test elements.

You have tank-type gas water heater with standing pilot light.

Instructions for lighting pilot light are usually on front of water heater.
Since water heaters vary widely, if you want specific information without guessing, then add a comment with model number that appears on label on side of tank, and also describe the gas control valve on front of unit.

I need a cap which is located on the back of the clean water tank on a Bissell model 1950-3 steam cleaner

I had a look at the Australian variant of this model and located parts number 407-0931 Clean Water Tank.

My best suggestion is that take this part number and contact your local Bissell Service Center, go to the Bissell International website to locate information for your country.

Basically, you need to attach the external tank tray at the bottom, remove the tank male fitting and screw it into the external tank female port.
