How to fix an error?

First of all check that the ribbon core is correctly placed with the notches fitting on the Green wheels. If th ribbon coe is not secured the wheel will not turn and no ribbon will be detected. If your core is too short and with no notches, you'll have to glue a pice from another core an create a notch.

My 510s is having issues with printing. The print ribbon is sticking to the paper, thus tearing the ribbon and causing a paper jam.

If the printer is still under warranty I would try to get the Canon tech support to help fix it or replace it. If not, look very carefully for any tiny bits of paper that could trigger the sensors. You may also use an air can to blow out hidden particles.

Hope this helps...

Everytime I turn my Zebra TLP 2844-Z printer on,

The red light means out of paper or ink ribbon. Some people chose not to use the ink ribbon and get thermal direct paper which requires no ink ribbon but the printer has to be told by the driver not to expect ribbon or the red light will come on. Also not having the correct paper height set in the driver will make the red light come on as well so check the advanced tab in the properties of the driver then click printing defaults. In the ZDesigner driver height and width are entered there. In the zebra universal, click paper output and enter the size.

I am getting error when I send print job to Kodak 1400 thermal printer. The media light flashes but can't find anything wrong with paper or ribbon. Any suggestions ?? Thanks. Debby

Hi Debby,
If you remove the paper tray and the cradle holding the ribbon you will se a BLACK holder on the RIGHT hand side of the machine were the Ribbon Cradle sits.
At the bottom of this BLACK holder you will see a small hole. If you get get a cotton bud and put some glass cleaner on it and wipe the 2 sensors in this hole. Replace the Cradle and Paper tray and try it now.

If this does not work have you tried checking that you have set the right paper size and type in Printer Properties.

Thanks

Gary

Printer error, only prints one color

Did any of the ribbon come away, or tear when it broke, i have heard of small pieces lodging in the carriage or feeder. Check this very thoroughly as blockages can be very tiny. Check you correctly inserted the ribbon too, and it is the correct type of ribbon for your unit. (sounds silly but sometimes it ccan be that simple) try reinstalling printer, is the ribbon cartridge faulty? check it.

PRINTER ON/OFF

op the ink cartridge protective door located above the ink cartridges. remove both cartridges. look at the white ribbon cable that connects to each cartridge. You will see gold dotted connections. look closely for a small hole in the cable . This hole is caused by the spring that holds the cartrdges in. Sometimes people force the cartridge in puncturing this ribbon cable. It is a poor design by HP . The error code will usually say ink cartridge door not closed. Unfortunately the assembly is fairly difficult to replace and can cost as much as to printer. If you bought new cartridges, buy asimilar unit which uses the same cartridges. Then at least its not a total loss. Scrivitron
